Ohhhh, the genius of Auburn...
Got this in an email yesterday, good stuff! Not sure of the date.
From AUTigers.com...
Saban contract worst thing ever to happen to bammer football?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They on their way to bankrupting their program. How much money will they have to offer quality assistants? And if Saban doesn't perform, which he won't, how much will they have to pay him to move on?
They've rolled the dice and bet the house. If Nick wins them their 10 game standard (ha ha ha) and multiple SECC's and a NC in his first 5 or 6 he stays (Good luck with that). If he goes 8 or 9 wins a year for his first 4 or 5 years, then WTH have they paid for?
While I can't see the future and how this will all turn out, on the face of it I have to say this is dumbest thing that bunch of morons has ever done. Saban is a very risky financial move on behalf of Alabama. Saban may be an upgrade over shula, but he's not good enough to be the highest paid College coach in America and they are fools to pay it. He is a mid-level coach of suspect character and inherited a great situation at LSU.
If he craps out on them before the contract ends, then it will cripple bammer football (financially) for another decade or more. This will be fun for us to watch this fiasco play out. We are so blessed to have TT and will for many years. Saban is a flash in the pan and Tommy will own him. I predict Saban will never beat TT and will be gone before he ever wins anything. Take it to the bank!!!!

I wonder if it was this guy that said all that

I'm gonna come at you like a spider monkey.
Wait, their facts are incorrect
I believe Saban is not the highest paid coach in America, and hasn’t been for his tenure.
Even if they lack reading comprehension and the ability to do research, they could find at least 50 sites that show the amount a coach is being paid and see he wasn’t at any time.
At least we can take the possibility of an Auburn running back writing this email. ;-)
It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.
At the time it was written...
Saban WAS the highest paid coach in the nation. We set the bar at 4 million, remember?
You might wanna know your own facts before you start criticizing others for not checking.

Touche.
Okay, during his tenure was incorrect. My apologies.
Just had the Les Miles clause in my head and took the year for the entirety of 2007, which would have cleared Les to be the highest at the end of the year.
Next time I will choose my words more carefully. Thanks for keeping me honest.

On that note,
however, If my memory serves, Saban will again be the highest paid coach in CFB after his NC. Well deserved, if you ask me.

i think they all
get paid way TOO MUCH….no football coach should get paid than a Million..
Lane Kiffin took the meaning of "Volunteer" WAY too seriously....
CNS...
…should be able to write his own paychecks…otherwise, I agree with you.

At least we can take out the possibility of an Auburn running back writing this email.
oh, the irony

...or WOW!!
Wrong on every single account…every statement this aub made went the complete other direction. I bet the “local man” loves this guy. I wonder how much they are enjoying watching things play out?
We are so blessed to have auburn for our in-state rivals.
This might be my favorite
Of all of the “Bama will fail” pieces written just after Saban’s hire, this one tops ’em all. I especially love the references to Tuberville.
+1

This statement right here is all I need to know about the idiot that wrote this. LSU was atrocious before Saban got there. Before he came to Alabama, he had a reputation as a program builder.
Aubbies are the most ignorant bastards I have ever seen in my life.
You play fast, you play strong, you go out there and dominate the guy you play against, and make his ass quit! That's our trademark, that's our MO as a team, aight, that's what people know us as! - Nick Saban, 2008

Well, they have their idiots much like we have ours.
AU idiots just seem to have more ignorance of the subject they discuss. I would venture to say that each fan base has , let’s say, 35% idiots, 25% jackasses and 40% normal fans. The biggest difference, usually our fans have a higher football IQ, across the board. The person who wrote the above is not in the 40% group for AU, they are in the 35% group. They have more than your average deficit of knowledge, they are borderline “special” and also most of what they wrote was out of hatred rather than reason.
Auburn and Tennessee fans are a lot like Slinkys...neither are worth much but you do get a sense of satisfaction from pushing them down a flight of stairs
Think he rode the Short Bus to school
In light of the special needs of this fan I think we should add," We’re sorry your TT was processed."

On a larger point.
This is why Auburn fans don’t matter. They’ve been wrong about basically everything since Saban arrived yet haven’t learned their lesson in the least.
Now the smack talk has shifted from actually winning games to winning a single recruiting battle, almost winning a game, or shocking the world by going 8-5 instead of 7-6.
I am sure that Chizik and Co. will never accomplish what Alabama did this past season. Take it to the bank!!!
In the good ole days (Before the Internet)
It used to be a spirited rivalry between Bama and Auburn. While we didn’t necessarily pull for each other to win all of our games, we didn’t hate and hope for implosion every week for the other team. I used to want ALMOST U, Sorry I meant to say Auburn, to win every game so that when we kicked their ass on the final game of the season it really meant something. Today, on the other hand, I want them to be 0-11 when we kick their ass. My biggest rivalry is no longer Auburn, but Tennessee, followed closely by Florida (Since I live down there). The Barn is an afterthought , at best.
