Top Moments of the 2009 Season: Round One - Ingram vs McClain & Anders

Well, yesterday's wasn't even close with Javy's INT at Ole Miss pounding Hanks' TD at Mississippi State with 68% of the vote.  What can you say, we love him around here.  Anyway, today we pit the 69 yard screen to Ingram late in the first half of the SEC Championship game vs the McClain/Anders tip drill at Kentucky.  Vote away.

Tip Drill was a savvy play

but not good enough to pick over Ingram’s play.

Yea i kinda figure Ingram's play should win but...

I love me some McClain, and i almost cant NOT vote for him.

by tidefanstuckatlsu on Feb 9, 2010 8:18 AM CST reply actions

I just simply can't not vote for him.

However, a tip in the air isn’t exactly classic McClain – I’ll always remember his chess matches with opposing QBs, some super hard hits, and him just showing up to end a play when no one expected him to be there (he played sooo smart!). I voted for him and Anders, though – Ingram has won so many of these already and I’ve gotta support some of these other guys!

Ingram

It was a great call and really took the wind out of Florida’s sails, especially since they had scored on their previous possession and gotten back in the game. This was also one of the plays that solidified Mark’s place as the best player in college football in 2009.

Agreed

After his performance in the Iron Bowl, that play brought him back into the Heisman discussion and very well won it for him in some voter’s eyes.

Momentum stealing

and Heisman sealing, gotta go with Mark.

by tc16cav on Feb 9, 2010 8:50 AM CST reply actions

Agreed...

Of course having been in the Georgia Dome when that play happened also makes me like it a little more. It really shut up the Florida fans sitting right next to me.

Yep

this is what turned it for me……I was in the Dome when it happened too…….I had this horrible feeling that the momentum that we had built earlier in the game had evaporated, and that Florida was about to take control and then BAM we were right back in the driver’s seat with that one play…….as much as I did love that tip drill play with Ro and Anders, the screen to Ingram was absolutely huge

That's why playoffs suck

Stick the 2 best in the championship and crown the winner. :)

Had to go with Ingram.

But that popcorn tip/INT was rather awesome…

Sometimes I wish I could have multiple votes.

Tip Drill

Just something about a savvy defensive leader knowing in a split second that he could not get there and to pop the ball back up for another shot to be picked is way more impressive than a screen play for big yardage in my book. Maybe if Ingram would have run over a few more Gators and made it to the promised land…

It's not what you've done, but what you are doing that matters.

Screen

This play set the tone for the UF game and opened it up into a blowout. This play should be in the FINAL FOUR…in my opinion.

What are the chances that the final four go

Ingram, Ingram, Ingram, Ingram?

Rocky Block has got to make the Finals....it was the one play everyone will remember for years.

…much like the goal line stand…or the kick….or the sack…. ok, I am now naming off Daniel Moore prints.

That Dareus TD...

…was pretty sweet though.

Well,

there could conceivably be a final four of Daniel Moore prints, to be honest!

Something about reading 'the kick' and 'the sack'...

…that close together made me wince….
