There’s a reason the SEC hasn’t released the league schedule for the 2010 season. That’s because some games could be switching dates. Charles Bloom, an SEC associate commissioner, said Thursday that the league is trying to provide some relief for Alabama so that the Crimson Tide won't have to play six of their eight conference games next season when the opponent is coming off a bye week.
Chris Low: Changes Could be Coming to SEC Schedule
This topic has been discussed here almost as much as Colt McCoy's vagina shoulder, but this is the first I've heard of the SEC office having plans to remedy the situation.
OTS: This could be very big news for us, and hopefully it will come to fruition and provide us some relief. To me, anything that can break-up that brutal five-week stretch of at Arkansas, Florida, at South Carolina, Ole Miss, and at Tennessee (before going to LSU after an off week), will be great news.

You get a rec
on your comment. Bravo!
It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.
honestly,
i’ve got no beef with mccoy at all. he’s a hell of a player who had a horrible break in the biggest game of his life. he gets nothing but respect and admiration.
my problem is the longhorn fans who seem to think they give out bcs championships like “good effort” gold stars in fourth grade.

only b/c I've been waiting to use this image

But you still have nothing but my respect and admiration Kleph. I really have nothing against Ben Tate personally, I like his attitude, but he’s associated with the boogs so I must ridicule without mercy. Same goes for McCoy and the Tejans

you might think about the fact that you ridicule w/o mercy
before the next time you scold someone else for questionable comments. Which ha been often in the offseason !
"Defense"
i'm going to assume you are referring to my comment...
and point out there’s no scolding of anyone included in it, as you put it. i think OTS’ jibe is clearly meant as satire (except to the folks at which it was aimed) i was clarifying my own position toward it since i’ve been using it a running gag for a while now.
if you’ve got a thin skin over any of this, that’s not my problem.

No there's not Kleph in this comment. But he has gotten on several folks over the last few months.
Kinda like there’s a RBR security guard. You know, has the badge but no gun. I think we should not only consider what we say in general but try not be too hard on our own.

I'm confused
am I being called to the principal’s office again?

agreed
Watched the replay of the BCS Championship Game last night. His interview at the end is pure class. Sucks that he got knocked out of the game, but this ain’t the moral victory bracket.

Please baby Jesus........
Move the barns open date.
The meltdown would be EPIC….

Change Auburn's bye week?
If they could only change one of the six bye weeks Auburns would be priceless just for the sound that would be coming from Lee County, like a sore tailed cat on the porch of the local crackerbarrel.
If and I still think it's a big if...
this gets done I think this will be the best thing Mal Moore has done. Shula had to go through 6 bye weeks one year and it is total crap. Here is hoping for the best.

Sure but even Saban doesn't need 6-8 bye weeks every (other) year. So I still stand on the statement. The future is bright and we don't need the dark cloud.

Yep
Say whatever you may about TT, he would have played the rest of the UK game if he could have seen straight and they let him. He got over exposed but I gained complete respect for him after this past Heisman ceremony and his interaction with MI.

to be fair...
…McCoy’s arm just plain didn’t work anymore. It’s not like he was his team’s leading rusher a la Tebow. I think the kid would have played if he could have.

all i gotta say is
thank jesus. even if you’re some other team’s homer, you couldn’t objectively look at the big ol’ scheduling shaft we were getting and think it was in any way fair.
ALL of my doubts about repeating our success this upcoming season were based on the fact that our tired team would always be going up against teams who would want nothing less than our scalps PLUS be super jacked up from 2 weeks of prep.
in a perfect world, we’d end up with a bye before the iron bowl. really, it would only be fair, but oh my god the meltdown by the university of auburn would be the stuff of legend.
"We back" - Mark Ingram
An Old Story
The problem of other teams getting bye weeks before playing us is not a new story. I and others have always said that prejudice comes in many forms. We have been at the top for years and they are constantly trying chip away at us. I wish that the whole football world would be fair to one another. One open date for someone once in a while is expected, but numerous openings year after year is not fair nor is it right. No matter how good a team is they will eventually get tired. Good coaches know this and they will not abuse the players and they will do all they can to help. Justice for everyone across the board. Roll Tide.
