Bama Sports Report has a nice article summing up the BCS National Championship Game and then looking forward to next season. It's a great breakdown of the status of the roster as we go into Spring Practice.

A really good report.

One thing he failed to mention is that going into 2010 we have all of our coaches back except Willis.

If you go undefeated and return all your coaches I’d day you are set up for a pretty good year.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

REALLY enjoyed that article

apparently BSR thinks more highly of the incumbant / returning players at TE than OTS

Well...

…Preston Dial is a physical, blocking machine, but he was that last season. The real question, as I believe both OTS and BSR have pointed out, is whether or not Michael Williams or one of our other promising TE prospects can replace what Peek brought in terms of opening up our offense by being a true receiving threat. We’ve seen plenty of talented TEs at Bama who did not pan out as we hoped. I’m banking on this coaching staff being the difference between those years and 2010.

i can't look for the thread right now

but the word he used to describe the blocking abilities of both Dial and Smelley was ‘terrible’.

Very Interesting

Loads of potential, but the proof is on the field. Yes, we have a lot of experience coming back and we are loaded with backups, red shirts and new faces everywhere. I am very excited as are you, but I am patient to see what develops from the spring and summer workouts. I think there are going to be some athletes that will switch positions for the team and be outstanding to fill in the gaps. Does that wet your tongue or what? Wow. I am ready to start the football season now, but one hole at a time has to be plugged and backups need to be found to be there to spell or come in with an injury. Patience. brethren. Roll Tide.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J.
