Not impressed with that game. We played well overall, but it wasn’t a good clean game. Fouls hurt us. FG percent hurt us. Wall destroyed us. Even the refs got in on the action with some poor calls (though that didn’t cost us the game).

Compared to some other games (coughcoughOlMiss). We gave a really great effort. Of course I’m disappointed with the loss but hopefully there are good things to come

yesterday and today what we will become…which is really good. Winning 3 out of 4 at the end should get us an NIT. If Ole Miss get’s in the NCAA, then MSU, Bama and UF should be NIT. I think 4 NCAA and 3 NIT for the conference would be good.

Whether or not we hit the NIT, this team finished the season well. Our defense sagged some in the second half today (I felt like the fouls we collected in the first half made our guys tentative on D in the second), but picked up down the stretch. While Kentucky did receive their usual allotment of questionable calls, the bottom line is that we missed too many opportunities near the basket and at the line to win this game. Still, this team fought to the end against one of the best teams in the country, and my hat’s off to them, especially our seniors. Brock hit a couple of big threes, and Torrance was strong as usual. Here’s hoping they get to play at least one more game.
