SEC Basketball Tournament: The Rest of Day Two Open Thread

Wait-nervously_medium

The effort and opportunities were there but with Colt McCoy hurt we just weren't able to rally there at the end. Looks like we'll be waiting and wondering 'til Sunday to see if we can get an NIT bid.

Tomorrow, we definitely want to see Ole Miss win against (likely) Tennessee, which might be just what they need to move up from the NIT to the NCAA, clearing way for more SEC teams.

The wise one has spoken. As always, it’s a pleasure to root against TN.

Agree

Ole Miss win helps us. UT is already in the big dance

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

The main thing is...

…that UT sucks, and they should die.

I won't be able to watch this one

So if anybody is watching, keep me updated. I can check the score on my phone but any other observations would be appreciated.

Looks like Ole Miss to NIT

They still have a chance with their nonconference wins but they’ll likely be a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT. MSU needs to win tonight for sure to even stay in the bubble.

MSU wants to dance

Up 34-19 late first half. They need to win this one and then beat Vandy tomorrow. If they win tonight and then beat Georgia tomorrow, it might not even do it. Needs to be Vandy.

MSU leads the Gators 39-28 at half

State keeping their hopes alive for now.

MSU wins

They are now the very first team left out according to ESPN. Another win tomorrow (preferably against Vandy) may very well put them over the top.

I think...

…that’s nuts, especially if they have Florida in…and not just because of today’s game. MSU should dance.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J.
