How many LSU scrimms does Les Miles have to watch to understand he should trust his Big10 roots instead of Gary Crowton http://bit.ly/cWcTPi

Indeed...

LSU consistently manhandles us up front…forever, it seems. The ‘08 game we couldn’t stop them (200+ yards). Last year was pleasant, but that’s a factor of Scott getting hurt, and Crowton sucking with his playcalling thereafter. 2007 was, statistically, a one-sided bludgeoning, etc, etc.

I don't think this is true

Part of the reason LSU is able to move the ball is because they have a formidable pass threat on every play with Crowton’s offense. If they abandoned this and just tried to mash it I think they’d be less effective. An offense with three receivers and a good running back is harder to defend than a powerful pro set with one or two receivers and a tight end (or two).

I agree

The idiot in question is Miles, not Crowton.

Idiots they both are...indeed.

But, it makes your team a damned sight better to mash it 35 times a game with that monster line, and those talented backs, than it does to turn it over to Crowton with a slurry of screens and flurry of picks when your QB chews testes.

My apologies to

Screens and Testes…

You in no way deserved that….

As much as I respect Crowton's Xs and Os smarts...

…the guy is a horrible play caller. If a play works, never call it again. If you are mauling people up front, abandon the ground game and let your pick six machine QB air it out.

Agree.

From all the complaining Bama fans can sometimes do about McElwain the guy knows how to put his team in the best position to win. We are 26-2 since he got here and that is no coincidence.

I have full confidence in the LSU staff to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

I've said this before...

…but I’ve been told from LSU folk that Miles changes many offensive plays on the sideline during games…of course, Crowton may not realize this, as Miles may just be giving his orders to one of the nearby state troopers.
