AJC Recruiting Article
Chip Towers has some good information on the players Alabama is recruiting in the state of Georgia. Towers always provides good recruiting information, and is definitely worth a read every day or two.
I am really interested to see how Alabama does in the state of Georgia this season. I think people maybe a little too optimistic if they believe Alabama is going to sign more of the elite players than Georgia, but things are looking good for the Columbus duo (Wright and Crowell), and others.

According to the article
Wright has Georgia back on top after an in home visit from Richt.
At this point in the recruiting process I put little if anything into early commits or comments from recruits. Look what happened with Allen last year. IMO there should be an early signing period so these kids who feel obligated to give their verbal so early ending the recruiting process can put it in ink. An early signing period would change the recruiting landscape and add a smidge of integrity to the back stabbing process.
He is great who can do what he wishes; he is wise who wishes to do what he can.
Allen
For all the hue and cry about how early commits don’t mean much, Allen is more the exception than the rule. Most kids (+90%) end up staying with the school that they committed to in the beginning.
Also, it is worth mentioning that Allen did not commit to Alabama till 3 moths prior to national signing day, hardly an early commitment.
Lastly, I will say that an early signing period does not really change anything in recruiting, except speeding up the process even more. All that an early signing period has done in basketball, is if you are currently not recruiting sophmores in high school you have virtually no chance to sign them when they are seniors.
