Why LSU's Schedule Sets Up Nicely for a Championship Run in 2010
For the complete article, click here.
Following the bye week, the Tigers play what will be the biggest game of the regular season as they host the defending National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide.
This has the potential to be a game for the ages with dozens of story lines for the fans and media to blow out of proportion.
As always, Nick Saban is a major story line. The Saban hatred has been getting more intense for Tiger fans year after year rather than fading away. To diehard Tiger fans, Saban coming into Baton Rouge is like Satan walking through the pearly gates of Heaven.
There is also the controversial "toe on the line" call from 2009 that should motivate Tiger players and fans to step up their levels of intensity even higher. I would watch for Patrick Peterson to come out throwing haymakers in the defense’s first couple of drives.
With the extra week to prepare, the Tigers should be able to move the ball on a depleted (but still very good) Alabama defense and win this game, propelling themselves into the National Championship picture.

Only problem I see with this wishful thinking......
Les Miles
He is great who can do what he wishes; he is wise who wishes to do what he can.
Ok so we got 10 seconds left
And no timeouts. BUBBLE-SCREEN!

Spike it....Spike it.....
Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
Miles never told him to spike it.
LOL. I still think its funny that Miles claims he never told him to spike it, yet there is video of him running down the sideline giving a spike it gesture. What a douche!
Also you failed to mention that Bama has their off week before the LSU game!
He is great who can do what he wishes; he is wise who wishes to do what he can.
so, thanks again for linking to this stinking pile of horse shit.

If LSU wins the BCS championship next year...
I will show up at one of the ASU football games sporting a LSU BCS championship shirt the following year.
It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.
Wow. This is optimism
rarely seen by someone who has Les Miles as coach. LSU will lose to WV, UF, Bama and Arky. They are no better than 8-4. If they are not careful they could fall to NC, Auburn, and Ole Miss.
I’d say LSU has about the same odds of missing out on a bowl all together, going 5-7, as they do of going all the way to Arizona.
When you are an LSU fan you always need to remember that Les Miles is your coach. Even when he won a NC with Saban’s players he lost 2 games and just lucked into it. But, alas his luck has run out.
This would be a great article to save for December when they are firing Miles.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

LSU continues their decline in 2010
whether they beat us or not. Auburn is going to be our toughest SEC West opponent. Everything is setting up for them this year. Their offense will be deadly if Newton can play even half as well as he’s capable of playing and both Chizik and Roof will improve that defense well enough to make them a legitimate top 10 team. They might not be in the top 10, but they’ll bring that kind of ability into any venue and they’ll give any team a run for their money.
Their defense won’t be spectacular, but they’ll be better than they were in 2009 and their offense will be better also.
www.totteringworld.com
IMO, you grossly overstate au's ability
LSU will be the most talented West competition again. Ark will be the next most difficult opponent. au will be fortunate to win 7 games again. They have no shot at beating Bama. Their offense was being figured out by the end of last year. They lost 5 of their last 6 SEC games, averaging 21 ppg. Their schedule is easy this year with 4 OOC patsies (Clemson lost a lot) and no UF. They will lose to LSU, Bama, UGA and likely Ark or USCe, and 1 of OM, UK, Clemson or MSU.
LSU will...
…be the most talented, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be the most difficult opponent (though I expect them to be). Auburn will be more talented and deeper this season, though greener overall. Newton looks plain scary, which is saying a lot when you look at what the boogs have had at the QB position since sometime in the early 70s. I’m not hooked on Malzahn’s schemes, but there’s no denying the improvement they’ve already seen on that side of the ball. Defensively, they can only move up, and the added depth should mean that they don’t have as many fourth quarter fizzles this year. I still like us to beat ‘em, especially in the newly gussied up BDS, but I’d just as soon not spot them 14 points again.

Agreed
they were depleated last year by lackluster recruiting and injuries. That won’t last forever and I can see them winning 10 games this year. Going into the season, nobody expected them to win more than 6-7 games. My hope is that this season they won’t be able to sneak up on anyone.
I’m with you on Malzahn. When they play a good defense, and can’t control tempo, the whole machine starts to come apart.

Les Miles....
Their coach is Les Miles that should be enough, but guess what he doesn’t have anymore of CNS players….. Sounds like a a set up for late game failure not BCS championship. They are pretty good at that.
"I like my Johnnie Walker red and my women bolnde."

In defense
he is not claiming that they win a National championship. If you read the comments he clarifies that.
But as many have mentioned….with Miles in the driver’s seat, 8-4 would be a great season for them.
Has to be my favorite part in his comments...
I’m just trying to make a point that the schedule is set up to allow us to win any game on the schedule
Ya moron, it’s called playing it on the field.
It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.
I find it
ironic that you post this…and your name is Stretch….hmmmmmm
Lane Kiffin took the meaning of "Volunteer" WAY too seriously....
Why is that ironic?
I’m not sure if you know what irony is. But to your point, no, my name is not stretch, it’s just an old high school nickname. I don’t use my real name online for many reasons.

ummm...
the fact that LSU winning the NC in ‘10 doesn’t sound like a “stretch” to you? Now if thats not irony…i don’t know what is..
Lane Kiffin took the meaning of "Volunteer" WAY too seriously....
What's a bigger stretch?
Getting this guy’s armpits to not rip when you play him?

Or, LSU criminally underusing their talent again, as Leslie’s eyes are firmly fixed upon RR’s final, climatic 5-7 season in Ann Arbor?
If you answered the former, you win the internet.
