Here is the video of Urban Meyer tearing into the Orlando Sentinel reporter. Wow, he was one fired up dude! Pay special attention to the guys standing around them as they try not to snicker.

am I the only one who thinks

this is retarded? why the big stink about this meyers? there are way, way better examples of someone’s words being taken out of context. I don’t even think this reporter did even that. I read his article… didn’t see it.

I found the video

of Thompson that shows him saying the now infamous line “real quarterback”. See it here.

thanks for the link

after seeing Thompson’s comment I would say the reporters were fishing for that one. Note the 2 or 3 questions leading upto and including the ultimate question that led to his response. He definitley was not intending to diss Tebow. The “like a real quarterback” was actually said in a trail-off sentence as the next question was coming.

This whole thing is a mountain out of a mole hill from start to finish.

I agree completely....

it just trailed off at the end and was said so quietly that I had to turn up the volume on my speakers to even hear it. And I don’t blame Meyer for sticking up for his player.

Who...

…is Meyer sticking up for? Thompson? Tebow? Himself?

Thompson was quoted. His voice trailed off at the end, but we hear his voice, his words.

And the whole, if-he-were-my-son-we’d-be-going-at-it-right-now statement? Way out of line.

If Meyer doesn’t like the way a reporter handles something regarding his program, he should certainly let it be known. It would just be nice if he could do it, you know, like a real adult.

+1

total overreaction. first by the media reporting the comment as if malice were intended. then by Meyer toward the reporter. everybody just take a pill.

Urban is going

to give himself a heart attack if he doesn’t learn to chill out.

However, it would be funny to see the Orlando Sentinel banned from UF practices. pressers etc.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

If it were his son

he would tell him he misses him and wants to spend more time with him, then change his mind and go back to the football team.
