Spring Roster
Here is the Spring Roster for what that is worth.
Alabama releases the 2010 spring roster.
The only things of note I can find on here is that McCarron hasn't put on any weight, but Michael Bowman has either been hitting the gym or has been taking too many trips through the food line and has gotten his Freshman Fifteen. Any way with Bowman getting up to that area in weight makes me think he could be heading for the TE position. ROLL TIDE!!

Jalston Fowler
RB/LB…
God, for some reason I really want to see that kid carry the rock. Him and Grant in a couple of years will the real Thunder and Lightning!

Jalston Fowler...
expect big things from him in the middle. I’m hearing he could be the best middle saban has ever coached when he leaves Bama. HIs work ethic is incredible and if you doubt that just go watch his lifting videos. Also he is listed in the mid 230s but I hear he is closer to 250 and has better hips than any of linebackers. His high school rb film was very impressive, but his linebacker film was just as impressive. He has got an unbelievable drive and it is already being compared to rolando. Heard that if he came in when rolando that he would started as a freshman as well. Don’t expect him to redshirt this year.

fluidity in hips.
it is the reason why not all track guys can play football. allows for change of pace and change of direction. For example, Simeon Castille. He was considered very slow for a cornerback. However, he had very fluid hips and that helped him make a lot more plays than lot of other people running a high 4.6
it means he know how to, err, um,
dance yeah, thats it…

i still expect him to redshirt
too much depth at lb. As for this,
Heard that if he came in when rolando that he would started as a freshman as well.
that’s pure arbitrary conjecture that cannot be qualified by any means

I'd be willing to bet....
…he doesn’t redshirt. Actually not that much of depth at inside linebacker.
I just can't see him beating out
Hightower, Nico Johnson, Chris Jordan, Tana Patrick, or Petey Smith, barring injuries. Smith greyshirted, so I think that gives him the leg up on Fowler. Special teams player? Maybe, but I just don’t see him cracking the line-up at lb this early with the talent we have there.

Im not saying he is going to play significant time....
but I have heard he would only redshirt if he was injured. I would expect significant time on special teams. Petey Smith is overweight and needs to drop some lbs. Chris Jordan has been practicing at Sam. Tana is a redshirt freshman.
Petey Smith...
…has dropped some weight. Chris Jordan is a bada$$.

i think petey smith might have to be "my boy"
this upcomming year. isn’t he like 5’10" and really stout looking? i wanna see a hybrid of one of those jitterbug HB’s and solid brick wall pluging the middle @ LB. he seems like he could fit the bill.

like a human version of a pitt bull
nothing but muscle and tenacity. able to overpower oponents more than twice it’s own size, yet smart, loyal, and happy.

he's referring to
Corey Grant, who we don’t even know will play offense at this point. He isn’t on campus yet

I'm really looking forward to our future OL tandem of Agamemnon and Hephaestus...

I heard Agamemnon was a bust
something about “character issues,” but the film of Hephaestus is killer, dude knows how to deliver the hits

Tana Patrick may want to hit the gym, because this:
Tana Patrick LB Fr 6-3 231
Cade Foster PK Fr 6-1 221
could spell trouble.
Yeah, I thought Patrick was bigger.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
The
one that suprised me was Courtney Upshaw at 263 lbs. I didn’t know he was that big. Like many others have said I think the light came on for Upshaw at the end of last year and he should be a force to be reckoned with this season.
A picture says a thousand words unless it is a picture of the Alabama football team then it only says one word.........CHAMPION!

Upshaw....
has been bama’s biggest linebacker since he got on campus. I was on the sidelines with the team for the Tulane and MS ST game 2008-2009 season and he was bigger than hightower and mcclain and it wasn’t close. I saw mcclain and saw how big he was and then i saw hightower and he was bigger, and then i saw upshaw and he dwarfed both of those guys. I expect big things from upshaw. He might not have the finesse moves that stinson has, but his power might only be match by some of the dline-man.
