Classic Music Friday: BUDDY HOLLY
No, it's not the Weezer song, though I like that one a lot too. I figured I'd go way back for this week's classic track. Here's Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away" which came out in 1957...

I just KNEW you were gonna pick...
…Rave On when I saw Buddy Holly in the title. Oh well, still a solid choice.

Rave On
Would’ve been a great choice too.

Great choice
‘’Maybe Baby’’ is one of my all time fave’s.Great intro on ‘’Oh Boy’‘.This guy was so huge influencing Rock n Roll, but sometimes he gets overlooked by the average fan.The Gary Busey movie where he played Buddy is really great.
Up until several years ago I never knew that Don Mclean’s ’’American’’ Pie was about Buddy Holly’s death. Thanks, you made my day Nico.
My dad...
…is a huge Buddy Holly fan. As a kid he took me to see “The Buddy Holly Story” the Broadway musical. I’m not much into that kind of stuff typically, but the music played was all live and it made quite the impression on me. Buddy Holly is one of the few places my tastes intersect with my father’s.

Respect to the pick and the artist...
…but another “classic” (just for you young’ns that refuse to acknowledge the Pumpkins as classic now) I just am not into. His influence and death were felt everywhere, and sometimes peeps forget the holy trinity of that time (okay, embellishing there) died in the plane crash; The Big Bopper (HEY! That’s what I like!) and Richie Valens along with Holly. It was truly a day when the music died.
Much respect to you too Nico for this stroll down memory lane. And no, I’m about five years too young to have been alive then.
It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.
I'm multiple decades too young to have been around for this track.

good call, truly "classic" almost "antiquated"
