Around SBN: Odds On Peyton Manning's Next Home Includes Three Teams

-e4ea57cf825678df

The Crimson Tide basketball team used stifling defense and a high-energy performance to send out seniors Greg Cage, Anthony Brock, and Mikhail Torrance with a 73-61 win over the Auburn Tigers. Roll 'Bama Roll will have complete coverage in the coming days. In the meantime, enjoy the win over Auburn. The Tide now leads the series against Auburn 85-56.

Unfortunately, due to two unlikely results in other games on Saturday, Alabama will now move into a first-round matchup with South Carolina on Thursday afternoon in the SEC tournament, which means we would then face Kentucky on Friday afternoon in the second round should we advance.

Lets look at the optomistic side...

…we’ve beaten SC, we had a 7 point lead against Kentucky, a 23 point lead against Ole Miss, beaten Mississippi State. If the top seeds win out to face the team we know Bama can play with anyone. Not that I’m harboring any thoughts of getting to the NCAA, but it would be nice to see this team come together at the right time and give us a SEC tourney we won’t forget.

Bama07, thanks for the hard work you’ve done with putting articles together for us and keeping us in the know.

It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.

Yeah

And Kentucky’s waiting there eventually anyway. If we want to dream of longshot tournament bids, I’m guessing we’re better off catching them on Day 2 than Day 3 or 4. They could be (although unlikely) just a little bit rusty next Friday and we won’t be as tired. Well, not as tired as we would be playing in the 4th game in 4 days, if we make it.

Agreed

We have to win the tourney to get in the big dance. This is one of the best scenarios we could get.

Auburn and Tennessee fans are a lot like Slinkys...neither are worth much but you do get a sense of satisfaction from pushing them down a flight of stairs

Who would have

thought that we would move ahead of Auburn in the tourney?

Well it is a real long shot, but if we beat SC and lose to UK we are 17-15 with a few good wins (Baylor and MSU) and a bunch of close games. There was a time when an SEC school over .500 would likely get an NIT bid.

Any chance now? I mean if we had a first round game at Coleman we would easily put 10,000 in there.

But alas me thinks people view the SEC as a poor Bball conference at the moment.

Thanks Bama07 for great coverage this year.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

Baseball, Softball, Gymnastics

They all have a shot at a title.

what is with those damn uniforms

my head is throbbing with pain and I gotta enjoy our highlights with my team imitating Ohio State

whoever had the bright idea of the basketball team wearing grey – please fall down some stairs

I like them.

Baseball team wears grey sometimes. Gymnastics wears pink, etc.

its the same as a black jersey for me

it’s not one of our colors

grey is a staple of every baseball team and gymnastics wear pink to fight breast cancer

but that’s just me

I like the grey as well...

I don’t really have a problem with it.

i like grey as one of our colors

(i mean elephants are grey so it works for me) but the uniforms were just butt ugly and the undershirt was a totally different color
