That was the most

incoherent bunch of garbage I’ve read in a while. How he goes from Bama’s White House visit to cheating to basketball funding – was there an argument for or against anything in that piece? I guess that barner education is on full display in that one.

BTW, nice musical reference. If barners can’t be classy, just insert the class while referencing their incoherent diatribes.

Pretty much. It read like a blog post by some 16-year old girl on period trying to sound “deep.” I’m just surprised it didn’t end with some sort of self-reflective, meaningless platitude.

I've never read this

guy but it is amazing that someone who writes such nonsense can get a job writing for a newspaper. Of course it is the Opelika paper.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

Sour grapes

When your team isn’t winning anything but the last place trophy for “moral victories”, it’s easy to lay a load of garbage on the team that is proving up every day on the field of competition. What’s hard is having a team that makes the wins possible through a solid work ethic and a willingness to keep plugging along even though there have been some hard times and some disciplinary issues for the few that wind up affecting the entire team.

weirdly...

at first i thought it was going to be a typical barner rant against bama but then it transmogrified into this bizarre pile of non sequiturs, illogic and moral rectitude. it’s kind of epic in its own way, really.

Damn it, kleph...

…I had resisted reading that crap until you made this comment. There’s nothing ‘epic’ about that article…unless it was authored by a student at EPIC Elementary School. I have to go wash my eyes.

It's

not like playing big time college sports gets you noticed and puts your university on the map or anything. As a matter of fact, I’m willing to bet that one could easily draw a correlation between the growth/success of college sports in America to shrinking enrollment, cuts in admin/prof salaries, a reduction in donations and a general stagnation of the growth of universities as a whole.
