Days before the Crimson Tide's first official scrimmage of the spring, it appears Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram may be asked to shoulder a greater share of the load in the backfield than previously expected. No details yet, but we have learned that both redshirt freshman Eddie Lacy and sophomore Trent Richardson have asked to be released from their scholarships and will not be in attendance when the Tide resumes spring practice this afternoon. Though decreasing amounts of playing time due to increasing depth at the running back position is assumed to be the main cause, details are scarce.
