Former UA defensive back Marquis Johnson apparently played a good game of poker on draft day. With undrafted free-agent status a real possibility for Johnson as the final hour of picks began to unfold, St. Louis Rams secondary coach Clayton Lopez called Johnson to ask how many teams had called to indicate he might be their final pick. 'Really, none,' Johnson revealed for a feature story in his hometown newspaper, the Sarasota (Fla.) Herald-Tribune, 'but I was like, ‘Seven.' (Lopez) was like, ‘Shoot, OK.'' Soon after, the Rams made Johnson the 211th pick of the draft in the seventh and final round.
