USC getting off light?

Guys,

I know that we're not supposed to experience too much schadenfreude when another school suffers through the God-awful sanctions that we went through in the past decade, and we're especially not supposed to hope that another team gets a similar smackdown. I understand that we really gain nothing by another university, especially one in another conference across the country, suffering the loss of scholarships, TV time, wins, etc. I have tried to be mature about this.

But, I swear to God. I hard Bill King on Rivals Radio this morning say that the winds seem to be blowing toward lighter sanctions for the Trojans, ... and I completely lost it. I began pounding the wheel of my truck and screaming at the top of my lungs. Thankfully, my 1-year-old was not in the car at the time.

Maybe it is latent hatred for the NCAA over the shoddy, backhanded way they handled our investigation (i.e., secret witnesses, making deals with rival coaches, etc.). Or, maybe it is just a sense of fairness and the inherent belief that the rules should be applied evenly for everyone. Whatever the reason, I find myself feeling intense anger over the prospect that Southern Cal might not receive a punishment equal to their infractions. I have tried to talk myself down off the ledge, but I just can't. If they don't get smacked and smacked hard, I am going to be very, very pissed off.

Anyway, maybe you agree with me; maybe you don't. I don't really care. I just needed to vent. Or, maybe this was a confession. Either way, I feel better.
