For those who still care about Alabama Baseball we need a minor miracle of sorts this weekend.

Although we won the series with a good Ole Miss team we stand tied with 4 teams at 12-15 in the conference. Each team: Bama, UT, UK, and LSU have one 3 game series left. The top 2 of these 4 will join 6 other teams who are already in SEC Tourney.

Bama (12-15) plays UT (12-15) at Knoxville and to be honest we need to sweep. The reason we need to sweep is because UK (12-15) and LSU (12-15) play UGA (3-22) and MSU (5-22) respectively. UGA and MSU are brining up the rear in the SEC. More than likely UK & LSU will both win AT LEAST 2 games this next weekend. If Alabama only wins 2 of 3 from UT then we would very likely at best be in a 3 team tie for the last 2 spots. The problem is both UK & LSU hold the tie breaker over us. Bottom line if we tie with these 2 teams for the last 2 slots we are out. If we tie with 1of these for the last slot we are out. Therefore considering how week MSU & UGA are I think just taking UT 2 out of 3 will not get it done.

Even if we sweep UT (which is going to be extremely tough) we could still be ousted if both UK & LSU sweep. And, this could easily happen as MSU & UGA are very bad.

At any rate we need to hope for the best. The funny thing is that there is no super power in the SEC this year. The top 2, UF & SC have both been beat by Bama. If by some miracle Bama made the tourney it is not out of consideration that they could win the whole thing.
