Alabama Crimson Tide Nominated For ESPY Awards

The nominees for the 2010 ESPY awards were announced today and the 2009 Alabama Crimson Tide football team is in the running for Best Team while Coach Saban and Mark Ingram are in the running in other categories.

While the nomination show will be tomorrow night at 7 p.m., the voting for Best Team has begun and will run through the telecast of the 2010 ESPY Award Show on Wednesday, July 14, at 8 p.m. To vote you can visit the ESPY webpage or the ESPN Facebook page.

In the category of Best Team, Alabama is facing the Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks, UConn's National Champion women's basketball squad, NBA Champion LA Lakers, World Series-winning NY Yankees and the 2010 Super Bowl victors, the New Orleans Saints.

In addition, Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban is nominated in the category of "Best Coach" and the Crimson Tide's Heisman Trophy-winning running back Mark Ingram has been nominated in the category of "Best Male College Athlete." Voting in these categories will be concluded at 11:59 a.m. on July 10.
