Per Twitter, Anthony Grant goes international, literally, for his latest commitment. Now I'll be the first to admit that I ignorant of the ways of basketball, but based on this it seems like good news. If nothing else, you certainly cannot say we don't have some size now.
Apparently this guy has been playing basketball only for 14 months, so I imagine a redshirt year could be a possibility. Still, though, sounds pretty good. He had offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Baylor, and he played for the Swedish team. His brother is also enrolling at 'Bama with him, so hopefully that will help him make the big cultural transition. Wonder if the Swedes have ever even heard of Dreamland?

Give Grant credit
he is thinking outside the box. Something MG seldom did.
If we have to expand...let's keep it to 14.
WIth Carter and now the Swingin' Swed
We should have some decent size.

We've got Nell Carter?

Giving Green a legitimate center beside him will take a bunch of pressure off.
And this guy can move up and down the court from what I’ve seen on the youtubez. Fits the scheme well.
The sting of Knox and Jemison leaving might not be as hard now.
It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.

The YouTube video...
Looked like there was some lowly competition, but that’s just me.
If Grant thought he was worth a scholarship, then Grant knows something I don’t.

No offense please, but unless you are an NBA coach...
I would assume he does.
That white stuff on the top of chickencrap...... is chickencrap.
Ok, that came out wrong...
I wasn’t trying to question Grant’s decision in offering the dude a scholarship. What I was trying to say was that the video did not look that impressive to me. But, you’re right, I’m not an NBA (or any level) coach, and thus, I should just wait it out and see what happens with Engstrom.
And no, I wouldn’t make the same statement about Saban and a recruit.

Well
isn’t all the video we get of high school competition more “lowly” than college? Still doesn’t stop people from having to judge recruits based on it.

Just curious if you would make the same statement regarding Saban and a recruit?

I think we can all agree
that Grant probably didn’t offer him a scholarship just from watching YouTube videos of him.
