George's tie looks like Auburn's colors
Maybe that’s what they’re all laughing about.

Ah...
… you know, somewhere in Yankee Heaven (or Hell, depending on your perspective), Billy Martin just got fired again today.
Speaking of that photograph, between Billy and Bryant, wonder how much bourbon was consumed that night?

The Tampa newspaper (one of them, anyway)
had some pictures of Bryant and Steinbrenner golfing. Bear had a Yankee hat on in one.
I wonder if Mickey Mantle met them for drinks later on…that would have been an alcoholic barn-burner.
BTW – I think this picture is from the time Bryant and Steinbrenner had the Yankees scrimmage Alabama’s baseball team. There are a bunch of guys in what look like 70s era Bama baseball uniforms in the background.

I think that's right...
… that is Bert Bank on the far left, so it was probably taken in Tuscaloosa.

Yep
They had an exhibition and the Yank-Me’s no hit UA. That pic is the publicity photo from that game.
Auburn and Tennessee fans are a lot like Slinkys...neither are worth much but you do get a sense of satisfaction from pushing them down a flight of stairs
Sewell-Thomas Stadium
looks like a softball field at the local park. Glad to see we’ve made some improvements to the facilities since the 70’s.
