Our own rolltidefromaz's mom was at the Decatur mall yesterday and who should she see there but former Crimson Tide and current Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Javier Arenas. According to our correspondent, she immediately swung into action.
"My mom got me a football with his autograph. My buddy got his family's pic taken with Javy," he reports. And this picture of the man's humongous national championship ring was acquired as well.
There's a nice story about the autograph session in The Gadsden Times today along with a great photo gallery. Newswise it notes Arenas still hasn't signed his contract with the Chiefs but plans to be at training camp when it starts in two weeks.

Unless Javy grew about 6 inches and put on about 60 lbs…im thinking that should read he’s a Kansas City Corner Back..

How do these contracts work?
I would think he was drafted too low to be holding out for a bigger one, but too high to not get signed. But then, I know next to nothing about NFL contracts

I too was wondering about the contracts. Dad said the other day that Rolando still has not signed his? Also I thought I heard that Sam Bradford has not signed his yet. I figured this was no big deal and that it just takes awhile. But I’d be interested in some more info on this.
i think the key issue is if they will show at camp or not...
that’s the indicator there’s a problem with the dollar figure. but, i’ll be honest, i’ve got no idea how it actually works.
