Who's who in RBR
Since I'm new, please educate me. As in the case of any group of anonymous people on the internet, you have people who are classy, smart, stupid, nice, diplomatic, jerks, saints, etc.
So, save me some time... tell me now what I can expect from the regulars here. I'm not even sure how long this site has been up. So have the "oldies" on RBR been here 6 mos, 1 year, 3 yrs?
FanPosts are just that; posts created by the fans. They are in no way indicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.

not sure how long ive been a member here
but ive been reading this site way back when it was only nico writing. As to what you can expect from the regulars, I would say that in my experience that you won’t find many sites with a more knowledgeable and witty bunch than what we have right here. This site truly is as good as it gets in all phases

been reading RBR since before the 2006 season kicked off
you can expect mostly sarcasm in response to this post. overall, a lot of Anchorman and Big Lebowski quotes, some bickering, sunshine pumping, and when Bix posts, a lot of soul searching….

Todd = the supreme dictator
Nico = even cooled guy who knows a shit ton about music
OTS = football guru who has an odd like in movies/ music
Kleph = well hes evidently the enchanted wizard of rhythm
Pete = the know it all….who well knows a lot
Bamagrad = knows a lot about Bama history and hates the Big Labowski
5028 = doesn’t usually get caught up the shannigans and always has a well thought out comment
BR07 = douche…but seriously, great regular with always something insightful to say…we almost killed each other after the SEC CG in 08….
Tempe = hot head who gets cared away from time to time but always comes back to reality in the end. Ask him about a unfortunate time with a girl…blood and being uncircumcised (god i hope i have the right person here)
Zoltar = evidently knows a lot about sport sites and loves talking shit on rival sites….
Stuck in the Plains = all around great guy…one of my favs
chinesedentist = i have no clue where the name came from but they guy his an awesome bar keep
Nicelittlesaturday (NLS) = this guy is my sarcastic counter part….probably the funniest guy on RBR..
Spock = resident badass….nough said
Comer = resident drunk
Bix = the craziest M’fer you’ll ever read on this site or any other for that matter..
me = well ill let someone else take a stab at me…

the matriachial lineage of this site runs deeps
but it starts with BamaVicki, who, i’m not sure if she still reads cause she got all pissed off at BR07 and Bammer i think… cant remember really. i think "lilSis is BamaVicki’s little sister though. and that pluck n grit is lil Sis’ daughter and Vicki’s neice. and that Queen is not related to them folks, she’s simply the Queen, lives in texas, and has red hair, and a good sense of humor.
there’s also BamaGirlinVegas who somewhat recently joined us, she’s in Reno i believe….

Like many
I started checking RBR in late 2006. I found it and Memphis Tider’s blog to be the best two sources of information regarding the coaching search. RBR has been on my bookmarks toolbar since then and gets clicked about everytime I fire up my browser. I don’t post as often as many of the other regulars, and as a result, my sarcasm is sometimes mistaken for udder stupidity (Auburn’s own brand of stupidity, not to be confused with ‘utter’ stupidity), but I’ve also never found a forum where as many obscure references are picked up easily. Win some, lose some.

Many of us have been around here a LOOOOOOONG time
relatively speaking. I have been a member since early 2006, before the SBN merger in early 07 I believe. But here is my take on this site, which is by far not just my favorite Bama site but my favorite Internet site. I’ve probably been on here almost as long as anyone else who is not a Manager.
The website started as Nico’s baby, I believe, and Nico and Todd joined forces and it was like Darth Vader singing Baroque Pop. Seriously.
Todd – Runs shit with an iron fist. In person a super nice guy, on the Internetz he is our (not so) benevolent dictator. In Birmingham.
Nico – Cool as ice, loves Soccer and weird music. Nah he is just way more open to new shit than I am. In Birmingham
OTS – smartest MOFO I think I have ever met. But don’t tell Pete. Lawyer, and has an ungodly knowledge of football for someone who studied so much law shit.
Pete – Second smartest person I think I’ve ever met. He has two screennames, one for him and one for his ego. Nah, Petes a cool guy, and has ballz made of cast iron. Hardcore.
Kleph – Kleph is like the uncle that gets stuck babysitting all the retarded children. Kleph is my dawg. Keeps us on the straight and narrow. Keeps us – for the most part – from pulling a Dean Martin (in the gutter).
Comer4Tide – has been busy as hell so I haven’t seen him around much. Comer’s wild as hell but keeps me in stitches.
BixBeiderBeke – Holy shit. You’ll just have to see. He is also a big USC fan, so quite the paradox. But his true blood runs Crimson. He has been busy lately too, so hasn’t been on as much as I’d like.
Bammer – Zach Galafawhatever meets conan obrien. Lives in Tallahassee, misses Atlanta (sike!).
Spock – RBR resident Hip-Hop guru, super nice guy, but I fuckin’ hate him cause all the ladies think he is hot. Whatever, Josh, you ain’t that good looking!!!!
Bamagrad – Think if Rambo played football and then told Coach Fran to fuck himself, then had a baby with Chuck Norris’ daughter. WTF, Platypus? That’s who Bamagrad is, so don’t F with him, capiche?
Tempe – my favorite – FAVORITE – liberal nutjob. Nah, Tempe is a cool dude out in, uh, Tempe. I don’t hold his lefty characteristics against him, and he doesn’t do that with me and my crazy conservative viewpoints.
Nick Saban – he will own your soul. And win another championship.
Bama Vicki and LilSis – sisters, keep us in line. Can drink any of you under the table. Well, not really.
Oh, and NEVER ask about the iron bowl of 2008. Sore subject.
I voted for Kleph and all I got was this lousy t-shirt

I officially joined in Aug 2008
I actually began checking this site out daily almost a year before though. This is by far the best website I’ve ever come across! I have been a devout Crimson Tider my entire life, and I was born in Louisiana! I hate Tennessee more than any other team you can name. But like any Bama fan, Auburn, LSU and the Gators can all kiss my ass too. I don’t comment much, mostly because I don’t want to get Pete Holiday’d. But I have decided to test the waters. I fell like I know all you guys and gals and hope to be one of the crew, so here is a toast to #14! Also, I have a question. Is there anyway I can change my screen name without starting a new account? Roll Tide my friends!

…Mr. Slow Hand, it’s awesome here. You should know that all of the site authors and regulars around here are pretty awesome (if incredibly sarcastic) people, and that during the season you won’t find anywhere better to celebrate being a Tide Fan. Plus the gameday threads get pretty Epic.
Also, to add to all the info above, OTS used to have his own badass blog, called OutsideTheSidelines, which had some pretty incredible football analysis. You can now read it here at RBR. And Nico, Pete and Bamagrad all have really cool personal sites.
And, though Todd is a cannibal dictator, he’s a benevolent one.

I'm the devilishly handsome redhead.
I’m still new here so sometimes people get confused, but no, I’m not actually Brad Pitt in a red wig.
I’ve been on al.com for ages because I’m too cheap to pay for sports news and I don’t mind laughing at trolls now and then. There actually are some decent people there, even if they frequently get overrun by idiots.
I escaped to RBR a few months ago after changes to the al.com site made it much more difficult for me to post over there. Of course the level of conversation here is refreshingly higher than over there. I’m learning that some folks here like to argue over the dumbest things sometimes (I guess that’s true no matter where you go as it turns out), but overall it’s fun and informative.
Also, I like to make dumb jokes. I used to tell people that if they didn’t like them, they could sue me. But there are way too many lawyers here on this site, so I avoid that expression now. :)
Oh, BTW, if you could spare some money, I could use about three fiddy.

I like cats.
I sing to mine (Abraham) to the tune of Randy Newman’s “Birmingham:”

Greatest kitty from Alabam’
You can travel ‘cross this entire land
There ain’t no cat like Abraham”
He also seems to enjoy it when I whistle “Yea Alabama.”

and too old since Bear Bryant is more than a figure head to me. Ricky Moore is/was my favorite
Bama player. My dad and I used to listen to a small AM radio while chopping wood when I was a kid and I will never forget John Forney’s voice calling the game. I still miss it and my dad really does. He never has quite gotten used to Eli.
I understand hate. I'm a Alabama fan.
one of my roommates
at bama was a swimmer who enjoyed practicing her inhale & exhale techniques/bloodshot eyes with some of our boys including ricky moore. talk about a teddy bear- i loved him! i’ll never forget walking into our apartment the first time i met him – when he stood up to shake my hand, the chair stayed attached to his big black ass – it was hilarious.

This blog is my crack cocaine, I get a daily hit. I secretly crush on most of the managers and authors, and I keep “Yea Alabama” next to my first edition of “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Just reading Kleph and Pete’s posts make me feel smarter by association, but for the most part I stay quiet because I live by that “It’s better to be silent and thought of as stupid than to speak and remove all doubt” rule.
And so I don’t freak anyone out/get banned over the crush/semi-stalker thing, I am female.

Indeed I do.
While I am in the midst of clarifying, and due to some things mentioned on the “ban-able offenses” thread, I’d like to explain my moniker. I do not think I rock. Rocks was an old nickname. I didn’t want to use any of my other web ID’s, and I knew from lurking if I used “Roxanne” I’d be asked to prove it in pictures.
I’ve actually been trying to think of a less sucky name for a while now… just haven’t been inspired yet.

Cool
Well, this turned out to be a more productive thread than I thought! :)
I’ve been looking for a free website to mix it up with fellow Bama fans, but one where the conversations are at least half way intelligent.
Sarcasm? Bring it on! ;> That’s one thing I can identify with.
At my old cyberhome (now taken over by trolls), I was known as the level-headed guy, that likes occasionally, when the sports conversations are boring, to delve into the politics of the day.
But I’m afraid that compared to Nico I’m as plain as white toast.
I look forward to being sent to Todd Jail, though. :>

And I always think before I post. Sometimes more than others, but I’m not impulsive.

Well, I am the resident
unfortunately named fan. I’m Irish/Cherokee, red headed (and yes, the curtains and drapes all match LOL), green eyed, freckled, spitfire, beer-drinking female who met the Bear when I was a mere lass during his last year, as I watched Bama demolish Ga Tech 45-7 and was blessed to be able to shake the man’s hand after the game. I’ve bled Crimson since I was old enough to understand the concept of sports. I was raised right. :) My 12 year old daughter is taking up the lineage and nothing could make me prouder.
I’ve lurked here since 2006, had like 2 screen names and kept forgetting logins. LOL But I think I have that problem handled. I state unequivocally that I am not related to any Mannings, and Tennessee makes me itch, and that orange is certainly one you can’t sit with.
Welcome. Seriously, RBR is amazing. I keep my comments to a bare minimum because I let the pros handle the work.
You sound
100% amazing.
Ohio State has the worst fans in the Big Ten. Bar none. And it’s not even close. Humorless in defeat. Condescending in victory. Generally insecure all the time. I’ve partied and had fun with fans of every team in this league, save Ohio State.

After reading all of this....
there’s apparently no love for the elder of the group. Born within days of JFK’s assassination and moving to the south (Greenbow Ozark, Al) in 1973, I’ve been a devoted Bama fan since. I remember the day The Bear died and also remember getting misty eyed and having my girlfriend wondering what the hell was wrong with me.
I joined back in 2006, took a couple of years off and returned in 2008. I want to think it was in time for the SEC Champ. game. I remember the moderator getting on to me for my great disgust with JPW at QB.

One of the gutsiest 2-star QB’s I’ve ever seen play. Good guy, but glad he’s gone. As soon as there was pressure, there go the happy feet.

that's a little harsh...
i understand that jpw had limitations as quarterback but to say you are glad he’s gone is a bit much. mcelroy himself said jpw’s tutelage was one of the big reasons he was able to step up the way he did last year and he kept in touch with him during the season for advice. you don’t always get the quarterback with the level of talent you want but if you find someone who is a leader and helps your team win, you should be more than satisfied.

I'm not new to RBR...
I’ve been here since at least sometime in 2007. I post some, but not as much as others do. It’s gotten really busy on here since the site really took off. I’m happy for the Mods and all the work they put into the site. It keeps me entertained and informed while deployed to crappy locations in the Middle East.

I don’t have a “girlie” type avatar but I figure it’s always a good thing anytime Big Al can use the Auburn logo as a toilet.
Also the avatar is more my personality since I was raised with 3 older brothers and now live with 3 men (husband and 2 sons), I’m more of what I’d call a guy’s gal because I can fit right in with the guys on the drinking, cussing and of course the fart jokes….I think I’ve heard them all! It sounds like I’ll really like this group. Lots of interesting characters. And of course, you’re Bama fans, so how bad could ANY of you be?
And Bammer, and can see that you like to mix it up a little – that’s okay. I won’t call you a troll. I’m too new here to label anyone yet. (that might come later :)
And one more thing….
I said “I don’t do stupid” and fell prey to a self-fulfilling prophecy.
We all “do stupid” now and then – you wouldn’t be human otherwise. I just try to keep the spells in between my stupid moments reasonably long (like at least 15 minutes! :>)

Gameday blues
Hey, I used to have a college roommate – from Minnesota and could care less about CFB – who would walk around the apt on Bama gameday and pray out loud “Oh God, PLEASE let Alabama win, else ______ is gonna be in a rotten mood!” And sure enough, if Bama lost I would be MAJOR grumpy for the rest of the day and on into the week.

Well . . .
I’m here because in 2008, Pete wrote an article on how the University of Utah could not possibly match up on the line with Alabama and I politely joined to explain to him that we had heard that previously but we’d show up for the game any old ways. Having an irrational love for my team, I recognized true sickness disguised alternately at times as genius and glandular disorder and cast my lot.
I was introduced to the Alabama fans here, and at the Sugar Bowl, and thought a group of folks this wonderful and classy needed a social anchor to drag them under from time to time so I’ve hung on. I am mostly allowed to pop up because I have a pathological dislike for Tennessee and Auburn and can’t explain why—I simply hate Auburn in its entirety (Perhaps that sack of shit Pat Dye did it) and the song Rocky Top makes me reach for a firearm and a dictionary.
Well, that and the fact that I always need a new group of folks to tell all my lies to.
Cheers mate!
Utah
Boy I bet this board was burning up after that Suger Bowl game.
Not to get that conversation started again ;>, but, although I think Utah had a great team that year and mean them no disrespect, I sincerely believe that if Bama had won the SECCG they would have won the Sugar Bowl. I know they likely wouldn’t have been in the Sugar Bowl, but play along. I just think they were still maturing in “the Process” and couldn’t deal with the loss to Fla. That and Andre’s stupidity probably cost us that game.
And ever since then we’ve had to put up with the “Utah/Boise St/TCU’s are every bit as good as teams from the major conf’s” arguments – blah blah blah….. (you guys need a rolly eye emoticon)

I’m older than most of guys here. I have a daughter that is a senior at Bama and I’m in Tide Pride so I to most of the games although I live in GA.
