Tebow vs Alfy Hill

Alfy Hill and the coaches who recruited him at Alabama should feel ripped off by the NCAA Gods, all those phone calls ,trips to his home evaluations gone .It really is just a bunch of Bull s#$% , Tim Tebow  gets home schooled and has no problem qualifying , this kid takes 2 computer classes administered by teachers in a high school that were deemed accredited by the NCAA Gods months before, yet they have nothing to explain or reevaluate ? Alfy has already made 2 B's and an A over the summer while working out in Tuscaloosa and the sole purpose for the clearing house  is to make sure the kids can actually do the work in college  . I don't think the decision maker at the clearing house is intouch with reality but I would  give a $100 dollar reward to find the name and address  of this person who actual made it. I would hope that someone gets embarrassed at  the very least for making such an idiotic call.

Tim Tebow gets home schooled and has no problem qualifying

Though i see your point, but many homeschoolers have to jump through a lot of hoops to make themselves qualified for most state universities. So though it might seem unfair, comparing this to a homeschooler isn’t really fair.

Check out this link to see the length that many homeschoolers have to go to make it to college.

and further more...

we really have no clue what Tim had to do to make sure his credits would be accepted at UF. I do know he had some agreement with the HS so he sould play football and perhaps if they accepted his credits he knew UF would to…who knows?

I'm pretty sure there was already a Florida state law before Tebow

that said home schoolers had to be allowed to play for their local high schools. I don’t know how they judge academic eligibility in those cases though. But I doubt the high school was charged with “accepting” Tebow’s credits.

Yeah

Tebow’s fine. It was annoying hearing his name over and over again, but I’m not going to vilify him. The real bad guy here is the NCAA.

a +1 for you

..and I have no reason to vilify Tebow, either…a helluva competitor and proven winner. I would assume his academics were on the level. BUT- Alfy got hosed on this one….period.

2 computer classes administered by teachers in a high school that were deemed accredited by the NCAA Gods months before,

How were they deemed accredited?

by CarrotTop4 on Aug 21, 2010 10:59 AM CDT reply actions

They were initially signed off on (as in, he was originally given credit for these classes).

This is what I'm trying to figure out:

Was he actually told by the NCAA that he was OK? Or was it just assumed that he was OK because his paperwork was sent in and they didn’t hear any complaints back?

And even if he did get an “OK” from the NCAA months ago, it doesn’t mean they had actually addressed anything about these 2 classes directly. (Also, BTW, we only know that one of the classes was a computer class. We don’t know what the other one was.)
