PrintIn a few short hours the greatest single documentary in the entire history of film premieres at theaters across the southeast. Nico2.0 and I will be at The Summit for the 10:00 showing and will certainly be chiming in with our thoughts later, but for those of you who got into the 8:00 share your thoughts in the comments below. Lives will be changed tonight, people. Be ready.

hey tempe, on a totally unreleated topic
Do you know if channel 3 is still the ESPN network carrier in Phoenix (sure I can google it but that would mean I would have to put in the effort)? I am debating buying the Gameplan package but if the early SEC games are going to be preempted for that Good Morning Arizona show or whatever the hell it is I may have to break down and shell out some cash.

Do you know when they are going to release the movie outside of Bama. There are two Huge alumni clubs in DC and Richmond any hope that it may be near us?
No
The film makers were on the Opening Drive yesterday morning and it is being released this weekend in Alabama, the Florida panhandle, and Atlanta. I think that is the extent of it’s theatrical release.

RBR: How wide a theatrical release will the movie get?
GG: Right now we are looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 theaters that are across the state of Alabama and neighboring states. Beyond that we’ve heard from theater chains and alumni groups wanting to book theaters in other markets. We are handing the theater chain offers and handling them on a case-by-case basis and looking to see what we think will be the market in those areas. In terms of alumni groups what we have done is create a package solution where if they can rent a theater in their town we’ll provide the film to them for a flat fee. We’re waiting to hear back from the heads of a couple alumni chapters to set it up.
What I can not believe is that it's not in Tuscaloosa till later .
That seems like the natural place to have a sneak peak. On a funnier note we had the doc. “best Worst Movie” last night at the Bama in downtown Tuscaloosa. It was about one of the worst movies ever made “Troll 2”,(note. it is not a sequel to “Troll” and there is not a troll in the movie). One of the main actors is a dentist from Alex City(he is the guy in the center top part of the poster) who travels around with the movie. Turns out he was a “booger eater” (Egan’s slang for an Auburn fan) and was even a cheerleader there in the 80’s. When that part of the movie came up there was a very slight boo in the crowd. He was very cool and we talked football for a long time. So while y’all guys were taking part in a reviling look at Saban , I was tending bar and talking football with an Aub who was in the worst movie of all time.
