Eligibility question
What does a school releasing a player from his commitment mean to the student athelete? I'm asking because I'm curious about the UT Bryce Brown situation. He's going to have to sit out a year regardless so what will UT releasing him or not mean?

If UT releases him from his scholarship,
it means he could go to any other school on a scholarship (assuming they have enough room of course). If they don’t release him, he would have to pay his own way while he’s sitting out a year.

Thanks. Don’t know why I had it in my head it had something to do with the time he had to sit out.
