Saban hopeful signee D. Menzie (Achilles injury) will be full speed by the first game.

Twitter / Chase Goodbread Possibly good news. Coming out of the JUCO ranks, Menzie was being looked at as an immediate contributor (a la James Carpenter and Terrence Cody before him) in a thinnity thin thin secondary, but an achilles injury sidelined him the spring and quite frankly I'm sure most of us figured on a redshirt year for him. Its looking like he will participate in fall camp and, even if he isn't full speed by the first game, will be able to work his way into the rotation at DB sooner rather than later. Some seriously good news if it works out. UPDATE: Estes has a post up over at al.com with some more info, including this nugget: Quarterback Greg McElroy has said previously that Menzie was participating "full-speed" during Alabama's 7-on-7 workouts this offseason. Sounds like good news to me.
