Your posters have been more than cordial over at BSD, especially after the loss. Taking into account the usual pre-game banter we had some fun. Most of our guys who were at the game are praising Alabama fans for being polite and not jerks. I think the mutual respect is still there.
For those of you planning on attending the game next year, I think you will have a good time but I will give you some advice: don't sit in the student section or anywhere near it. Honestly, some of our fans shouldn't go near that area. In a way, I think the student section should be dangerous to officials and fans. And mascots. There was the Minnesota mascot who made fun of a PSU player's prayer. He then got pelted with snowballs and iceballs. So don't taunt Penn State players. I digress.
The fact is that every fanbase has their clowns and ours is no exception. Don't be surprised if someone gets up in your face or screams at you, but I believe he doesn't speak for the rest of us.
My Dad and I have attended three or four games in Happy Valley over the years. The average "argument" between our fans and "their" fans is usually just a bunch of drunk guys yelling, "Hey! We're gonna kick your ass!" at some Michigan State fan. They're just stating the obvious in that case, but I'm sure it's a little bit annoying. I fear there will be some guy throwing beer at an Alabama fan or some guy dropping the f-bomb on an Alabama fan with kids. It's happened before and it'll probably happen again. Most of our fans are not beer throwing troglodytes, but there are some out there. Still, I think will you have a good time.
Especially if Richardson is playing.
