Marcell Dareus to miss 2 games, per ruling just now from the NCAA
Ouch. According to a string of tweets from Gentry Estes (working hard until his last day), Dareus will miss the first two games. He is being asked to repay $1787.17. The NCAA said that mitigating factors reduced his suspension from four games to two.

There go two of the top 5 players on our team.
Arguably 1 & 2 or (3). Sweet, just sweet. Thanks Marvin
Since I thought he said he paid Austin back...
I was wondering why he had to repay money. Turns out, he has to pay it to the charity of his choice per this article:
He also must pay $1,787.17 of benefits to a charity of his choice
This makes me think the NCAA found that he indeed did repay Austin, but had to enforce some type of “fine” if you will….he has to sit two games, but IMO, this is somewhat of a vindication for Dareus.

This is BS from those stiff shirts
That kid doesn’t have a pot to piss in.
Roll Tide!
i hope he pays this
and then gives a follow up to the power of ten when he gets his first pro paycheck and tells the ncaa to kiss his ass when he hands over the check.

Paying back to charity is SOP
I think that’s usually because the NCAA doesn’t want to put money back in the hands of those who are giving it to athletes wrongfully.
I'm wrong all the time.
That is what I was
thinking too. But I wonder if he can pay it to Nick’s Kids?! It did say “his choice”!

no way to dress this up
that is disappointing. Could have been worse. I was more worried about this than Ingram being back for PSU. That game is now officially a dog fight. I hope these guys backing him up are up to the task.
Roll Tide!
I thought....
The State of Alabama was on the cutting edge on law allowing
prosecution of agents is this type of behavior. I thought this
was passed after the Antonio Langum case. How come Troy
King isn’t pursuing this?

Probably if it involved a UA player...
