WILDCAT GEORGE BLANDA HAS DIED
The New York Times is reporting that legendary NFL player George Blanda has passed away at the age of 83. Mr. Blanda played for Coach Bryant at Kentucky in the 1940s. As kleph noted in his post "The Bear's Kentucky Boys," when Coach Bryant made his way to Lexington George said "I thought this must be what God looks like."
Reading that article you'll be blown away with how tough this guy was--he played for twenty-six years. He played until he was forty-eight. He'd throw a touchdown and later kick a field goal.
They don't make 'em like that anymore and I bet he made Coach Bryant proud.

A loss, for sure..
Blanda was the last of a dying breed of player. Those were the kinds of guys Bryant loved to recruit, too.
