Bama fans in Los Angeles
I am going to be in LA this weekend and don't want to miss our beloved Crimson Tide. Can anyone recommend a good bar for me to catch the game at? It does not have to be a Bama bar, just a place to catch the game. Also, I am staying in the Sherman Oaks area, if that helps narrow down a region.
P.S. My wife is pregnant and will be coming with me. So please don't send me to a Hells Angel bar cause I don't want her to have to watch neutralize a bunch of bikers. Thank you and RTR!!!

I won't be much help, but...
I’ve got a couple of ‘Bama fan friends out in LA and they have told me this is a place the alumni/fans gather to watch UA football and basketball games out there. Don’t remember the name of the place, but they have said it’s usually crowded.
Problem is I can’t find the location on UA’s alumni association page.
I know for a fact they once had it listed on that page because I came close to moving out there and had to look into the location where the game was being viewed by the UA fans.
Congratulations to the 2009 SEC and BCS National Champions: The Alabama Crimson Tide! Roll Tide Roll!
this is why you dont go on vacation during football season

mr pockets - manhattan beach

I know a great restaurant in Pasadena. . . .
. . . .they don’t have televisions, it’s just a better-than-decent place for eating and imbibing. The owner’s name is Zasa, the restaurant is called “Marston’s”. It is way great place to chow down, and the family are good friends of mine. Zasa is a ‘Bama graduate, and he’ll talk your ear off about Tide-of-lore and anything Alabama. Check it out if you haven’t already.

i lived in pasadena 4 years until a year ago
and the best sports bar closed down about 2 years ago. never found a good one.
big wangs in hollywood was cool.
wish i would have known the marstons guy was a bama fan. though i cant give such a ringing endorsement of the food as bixbeiderbecke does. marstons is always packed on sat morning though. baffled the heck outta me.
Wow?
Jimbo (the chef) CAN SERIOUSLY chef! His tenderloin, sea scallops, and chicken pot-pie is the ISH! The reason why weekend mornings are packed is because Trini (asst chef) has got to be the most badass m-fer on the planet when it comes to omelletes, Eggs Benendict, and breakfast potatoes. Now that place HAS GOT A BREAKFAST!
Pie N Burgers is has the most bodacious burgers and fantastic pies this side of my mama. I’m sprung on rhubarb pie, and THEY GOT IT. Legions of ’em!
(no worries though, my buddy Fabrizio didn’t like his time either. and Zasa personally met up with him and his date as a favor to me. but this buddy of mine is Italian, as in he doesn’t even refer to himself as Italian. . . .he calls himself “Roman” from Roma. i know! wtf?)

Try the Foxfire Room in North Hollywood
I went there for the 2001 Iron Bowl (my 2nd year living in SoCal- here was nothing but idiot Trojan fans near USC and at that time. . . .I wasn’t much of a Trojan fan). When they beat Auburn that day- I kept going back until the Iowa State game- they won all of ’em. Go figure.
I realize that was years ago. I think it’s still there. They changed the name from “The Iron Door” (which is one of the reasons I picked it for me and few cousins who were visiting. Iron Bowl . . . Iron Door? Had to be good for me, no?)
The rest of the 2001 year was a blur, but we got at least 30 Tide fans in there.
Out on the Westside where I live- I go to Q’s on Wilshire (near fUcla) or Yankee Doodles on the 3rd St. Promenade- you can be sure Tide fans pack those places on game day.
Google The Foxfire Room North Hollywood, CA and call to ask if Tide fans come in there still. That’s about the best I can do. I try never to head out to Sherman Oaks. Get ready for some serious dry-heat out there, we’re talkin’ mid-90’s during the day mid-80’s for the night. It will drain you. In Santa Monica/Venice where I live- mid-70’s to low 60’s. Both areas will get hella-sunshine.
Roll Tide!

No, I read Roll Bama Roll each and every day
But, I’ve been out of sorts for a bit. I hope to drop by during the season and take a few spins on a few threads. Especially when Todd does some sacrificing for our sake. That stuff’s just too damn good to not comment on. He’s aces!

Thanks for all the
suggestions!
I would like to try and avoid all the “idiot Trojan fans” if at all possible. Doesn’t anyone root for UCLA in that town anymore?
BixBeider, thanks for the heads up but 90’s sounds like I will need a sweatshirt! I live in Phoenix and was taking samples of roof cores last week when it was 117!
Dang, my man!
When I was a teen working tear-off for some weirdo roofing company- I’m not lying when I tell you I got burns on my feet working in the heat on roofs. That some serious work, just BEING UP ON A ROOF in that kinda weather.
Hope your time in the Lost Angels-area is swell. (we should kick serious ass on the Spartans and you should be well-sorted by halftime. The Foxfire Room has great drink specials and their bar stocks all the finest!

Somone was telling me about this "bama bar" with a bunch of Alabama fans in LA.
They printed up a bunch of shirts with this slogan “LA- this ain’t lower alabama”. The other day I also heard a caller on Finebaum from LA say it. Must be some big thing out there. I guess they think it’s clever, but it sounds kinda snooty to me.
What you're seeing is team spirit. It's like the Holy Spirit, but more powerful.

orange county
i’ve been in LA my whole life and just recently moved to Irvine in Orange County. if there’s any Bama fans out here in the OC, Players Sports Grill in Laguna Hills (psgrill.com) is hosting a Bama watch party. ROLL TIDE
I was out there for the Tennessee game last year.
Watched at a party at the home of some real nice Bama alums that I found through the alumni association. Great time.
on a side note...
are the same 9 people rec’ing every single fan post. there’s more rec’s than recent on the main page
I wonder if it's possible that
maybe 1 person jackass has signed up for 9 accounts and is rec’ing everything as a joke? I would guess the junta can check that.
More work for them
If that’s the case, I say they put the guilty perpetrator in a pane of glass and ship him off into the universe a la Superman II.

Sports Bar near Sherman Oaks
There’s a very great sports bar in Studio City, right next to Sherman Oaks … Rocco’s Sports Tavern, 12514 Ventura Boulevard, Studio City, CA 91604 (818) 985-9876 … http://roccostavernla.com
Not sure if there will be any BAMA fans but they have good food and many great beers, etc. and your wife will like it too.
Roccos'
I meant to say “very good” sports bar … I’d be there but have already made other plans to cheer for the TIDE this afternoon.
