Well done.

Simple and Understated...
The moniker of the Greatest Football Coach ever. RIP Coach Bryant. You will always be missed.

I remember that day well.
I remember crying my eyes out on the side of the road as the funeral procession past. We were home from Germany for the holidays. I only saw my uncle cry once and this was the day. If I remember right, it was cold and raining. I was only six at the time, yet my heart still hurts when I think of the loss of Coach Bryant.

I was 7. I really only have a vague memory.
Was the funeral on a week day? I feel like I was in school (in B’ham) and remember hearing about the roads being closed, but I don’t think I really realized what was going on.
If Bama never wins another national championship, the Barn will match our total in the year 2593. Please God, don't let me have a Futurama incident.
I remember that day like it was yesterday...
my 8th grade science teacher, who’s husband played for Coach Bryant, was crying and announced it to the class.
I’ll also never forget the sorry little Auburn bastard who laughed.
I hope you got suspended
for kicking his ass.

not if the principal was a Bama fan.

I remember clearly.
He died on Wednesday and the Service was on Friday. I was 11 and can remember my dad, who is not particularly fond of BAMA, saying the greatest coach in history of college football died and eventhough he did not care for BAMA he had huge respect for the Bear.

I was in High School
The news came out about his death at the same time I was getting my letter jacket for football. Someone came through the athletic training/locker room areas announcing that he had passed away.
I had always dreamed of going to Bama and play for Coach and this event officially ended both dreams. I wasn’t good enough to gain a scholarship and my folks really couldn’t afford college at the time (but would have done what it took to help me pay my way if I had insisted). I ended up joining the military (the Navy like Coach, ha) in order to get my education while getting paid and serving my country all at the same time.
Sad day for sure…
I went to the play ‘Bear Country’ at the Alabama Shakespear Festival in Montgomery this past weekend. I actually teared up at the end.
RIP Coach.
Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone.
Similar story
was a Junior in high school and went into the Navy after graduation the next year. I remember the shock I experienced hearing the news.

i was
in basic training at FORT L.WOOD.MO. when one of the guys in my company came and told me the news with tears in his eyes, and he was a true blue LSU fan.i felt like i had been kicked in the balls.

may not be the right spot to put this but...
espn.com is giving RBR some love. check this out:

just noticed that this was an insider link so..
the article says:
Four-star DE Jeoffrey Pagan of North Carolina (No. 53 in the ESPNU 150), who just committed to Clemson Jan. 16, surprised many when he arrived in Tuscaloosa last weekend for an official visit. What’s the deal with the one-time Florida commitment? Pagan’s coach told Eric Guimaraes of PalmettoSports.com that Pagan is reconsidering his pledge to the Tigers.
“He told me he wasn’t going to talk to anyone for a week and then make a decision,” Danny Wilkins said. “He is looking at Clemson, Georgia, and Alabama. He keeps changing his mind so we’ll see what happens. I really don’t know what he is going to do.”
Moreover, the folks at RollBamaRoll.com write that “many Clemson people think that he will not end up in with the Tigers despite the current verbal commitment.” Alabama has not offered yet, but with several elite prospects (DE Jadeveon Clowney, RB Isaiah Crowell, TE Jay Rome, WR Malcolm Mitchell, etc.) having dropped the Tide or leaning elsewhere, Nick Saban & Co. appear to have room.
RBR concludes, “You have to be optimistic about the Tide’s chances here,” which is not what Tigers fans what to see.

Was in college at UNA......
on a break when the news broke. The whole campus was in shock and quiet that whole afternoon. I too joined the Navy later that year. He will always be one of my heroes. Miss you Coach.
Now abides faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
i was in school at the university
and, i might get completely flamed for this, but the only other time i have felt like i did that day was on 09/11: totall shock and tremendous despair
it was spooky quiet outside as noone was driving or walking around. everyone was in front of their individual tvs or gathered at the communal tvs on each floor at the dorms and at Ferguson Center (way before it’s hip name, ‘the ferg’) or trying to use the phone. for hours, all the circuits were busy.

I was in college
in Louisiana and at work. My mother called and I just started crying. I remember we were trying to call my grandparents in Mobile and it took forever to get through because all the lines in the state were tied up! I miss him!

Today is bittersweet for me...
On one hand there is Coach Bryant’s death, on the other hand my little boy turned one year old today.
Congrats!
Can I have some cake? :)

The greatest ever
Rest easy Coach.
We’re doing well these days, in case you’re wondering.
Don't make me do it without the fez on. Oh no.
Talked to the Bear in a dream
He asked “…hows that new boy I sent your way doing?”
; )
Just kidding, but wouldn’t it be cool?

I remember my folks
being so sad, my daddy in particular. I was 10 and remember seeing the funeral procession and a big sign someone had made hanging on an overpass.
Thanks, Coach Bryant.

The last Coach
and one of the last real American Heroes.
It is amazing the impact he had and it goes beyond just winning football games.
I was living in Ga and I remember one headline: The Day a Legend Died.
If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.
My father, grandfather, and grandmother
Are all buried in the same cemetery as Bear. I know that they are all watching with pride as Coach Saban continues to build champions. Roll Tide!
