Apparently, in addition to the 30 for 30 documentary on the Alabama/Auburn rivalry, ESPNU has put together a documentary on the SEC's expansion to 12 and the 1992 SEC championship game. Here's the trailer.

But...but...

That’s during the Georgetown game! \

Dave Robertson is growing up to be the new Mariano Rivera. My two universes of fandom can finally unite!

is it fate?

that every time we get to the SEC championship game there’s a gator team waiting for us?

At this point, it makes you wonder...

Especially 2002, when a probation-shackled Alabama were not eligible for the SECCG which would have been a rematch with UGA.

I NEVER get tired of hearing Keith Jackson's Langham call.

Um, I think they may be overstating the message of “the world was changing…” (cue the music), “so the SEC split into 2 DIVISIONS!!! And they rioted in Belize!!!”

Calm yourselves, ESPN. Though it may be against your nature, try not to make the 1992 realignment story one that was wrought in the fires of world upheaval.

I really hope this expansion stuff leads to an SEC Network in the near future.

Aside from all the extra games, I would tune in just to see documentaries and specials like these. There’s so many great stories in SEC history…..
