Knowing that they are already talking about revising the BCS format for selecting who plays in the BCS game - this past weekend will usher in the +1. Here's why:
1) Every other non-SEC conference is sick of hearing about how great we are (truth hurts I know)
2) Those opposing an SEC gift-wrapped championship (ala Bama vs. LSU) were already hyping any team OTHER than Bama. Now it's looking like a done deal - IF the SEC doesn't pull a state of chokelahoma (liked the phrase in a previous post so I stole it)
3) Non-SEC conferences will look for ANY way of increasing their odds to get to the BCS game, hence the plus one.
Now granted, this year's scenario of having the top three BCS ranked teams being LSU, Bama and Arky is rare - it's doubtful the loser of the LSU/Arky game stays in the top three unless it's another overtime game. Even then voter bias is likely to push the loser down to the 4th spot - BEHIND Ok St. - yes OK st. (who will choke when they play the Sooners).
Personally I like the +1 idea and think it will INCREASE our odds as we're the most likely conference to have two teams in the top 4.
