As usual, Alabama's dominance was so complete as to be almost casual. The defense held Auburn to its worst output in total yards (138) in more than a decade, didn't allow the Tigers across midfield until well into the fourth quarter and effectively pitched its third shutout of the year... For an 11-1, season-long frontrunner that was already outscoring opponents by almost four touchdowns per game, it was a thoroughly dominant end to another thoroughly dominant regular season.

How does this week's OOC schedule affect the computer polls?
I know that’s something we have to worry about concerning OSU. The SEC won all but 1 matchup (UF-FSU), but we haven’t played too many of the teams that won OOC games this weekend. Will this affect us positively, negatively, or neither?

The SoS is more important in the computers
and they already have OSU ahead of us. So probably not much to matter. The voters are going to decide this thing. We’ll see the gap between us and OSU tonight (probably around 0.5 or so, maybe more if everything goes right).
My biggest fear is voters seeing OSU at #3 and automatically voting them at 3 instead of moving them up only to 5, but we shall see.
This might be close, but I think ultimately we will get the nod no matter what happens next week.

We’re going to New Orleans and absolutely nothing can stop us!
It doesn’t matter what Oklahoma State does or doesn’t do (though, if you want to win some easy money, take the Sooners).
It doesn’t matter what Virginia Tech does.
It doesn’t matter what Georgia and LSU do.
We’re going to get our second shot at the Bayou Bengals and a chance to add to Alabama’s glorious football history.

I've been seeing a lot of Bama people say this in the past week, but I disagree.
The AP is still respected. And I doubt most of the Bama folks would be saying this if this scenario happened:
OSU jumps UA in the BCS but is still #5 in the AP. Goes to New Orleans and (somehow) beats LSU. And for good measure, let’s say it’s a 1 point win in OT. Bama goes into the bowls ranked #2 in the AP and blows out our opponent (unfortunately probably would be WVU or Louisville) in the Sugar Bowl.
In this scenario we would have a very good chance at getting the AP title.

Cancel the ACC and Big 10 Championship Games....
….no rematches allowed.
