Trent Richardson Headlines All-America and All-SEC Teams

Now that the regular season games are finished, the individual accolades will roll out until we begin with actual football again on December 17th. Unsurprisingly, Alabama put five players on the AFCA All-America Team: Trent Richardson, Barrett Jones, Dont'a Hightower, Mark Barron and DeQuan Menzie. Alabama's five selections were the most of any school (Wisconsin and Oklahoma State both had three players selected.) The SEC had nine players selected overall. You can view the full team here (PDF).

In other accolades, Trent Richardson was named Associated Press SEC Offensive Player of the Year.

Other AP All-SEC Selections from Alabama were:

First Team: Barrett Jones, William Vlachos, Trent Richardson, Courtney Upshaw and Mark Barron

Second Team: Josh Chapman, Dont'a Hightower and Dre Kirkpatrick

Several Alabama players are also up for individual awards like the Heisman Trophy (Richardson), Doak Walker Award (Richardson), Maxwell Award (Richardson), Bednarik Trophy (Hightower), Outland Trophy (Jones), Jim Thorpe Award (Barron) and Lott Trophy (Hightower). These will all be awarded later this month.
