Thoughts on Urban and Randy Shannon on ESPNU coverage
After watching the coverage the last couple of hours I have to say that I think Urban Myer has done a pretty good job as a commentator. Randy Shannon has done pretty good as well, but I like some of the insite that Urban gave on some of the players (Pagan especially) and some explanation on how players are evaluated. I think it is pretty interesting to hear how a coaching staff evaluates players and not just how recruiting sites evaluate. Also I think Urban gave a honest answer to the question of whether recruiting class rankings matter. Urban said they do matter because they matter to the fans and to the preception of the team, but in the overall success of the class, they don't matter. So overall, I think he did good. Any thoughts?

Did you know that Urban missed out on ...
Moreno because he was so focused on Spiller? I thought the coverage was good for the most part, if a bit slow. I got sick of Urban telling that same story over and over though.
RMFTR! GO JAGS!
Meyer didn't anyone me
anywhere near as much as I thought he would. Randy Shannon on the other hand, well, this might not be his best career choice.
I liked Urban good inside look at how things go.
I think someone along the way told him to stop saying “we” when they were talking about Florida! I thought he did a good job in Glendale also. Did a good job of explaining football basics about Auburn.

I enjoyed their commentary
Two coaches fresh out of the game that both provided good insight and commentary. I couldn’t help but wonder though that if Urban and Florida had won the 2009 SEC championship game would Urban be sitting at espn on signing day or his office at UF?
huge hell to the naw

Your statement is better insight than what we saw from Urbz.
That being said, I thought he did pretty well. It will take a little time to switch roles from coach to analyst. Lord knows Bob Knight and Gruden still struggle with it. When compared to them, Urbz is far ahead at this point.
