So you say you can't go to Atlanta this morning? That's cool. Me neither. Some of us can't afford to take a day off work right now. Life is hard. The economy still stinks. Baby needs new shoes.
You know what you can do? You can call, email, or knock on the dorm-room door of every Bama college student you know, tell her to forget about that last Econ. class before the break, and shuffle on over the Georgia line for the biggest game in at least the last six years for Alabama basketball.
Win today, and we still may have to beat Kentucky to advance to the NCAA tourney. That's possible. We don't know what will happen in the remaining tournament games around the country this weekend. But lose today, and the odds are exceptionally high that we get left behind (no-Christian-apocolyptic-fantasy-novel-pun-intended).
Win today, and our odds become significantly higher of making the Dance. Win today, and we secure another quality win against an opponent we just beat on our home floor a week ago. Win today, and the losses of other bubble teams (sorry, UAB) look much worse in comparison.
But the game starts at noon (CST), one o'clock (EST). There's little time left. So go, make those calls, shoot out those emails, knock on those doors. Encourage every coed you know to skip a few classes today. It's for a great cause.
Roll Tide.
