Who needs Tiger Blood anyway? Admit it, you've probably always wanted to go on an epic drinking binge with Kenny Stabler -- well, all right, maybe I'm the only one, I don't know -- and now you get the chance. Well, sort of. Per the Birmingham News:
A friendly [Kenny] Stabler, dressed in a crimson turtleneck and wearing championship rings on each hand, greeted wine connoisseurs and football fans alike at a tasting to launch his Championship Collection line of Chilean wines Friday afternoon at Overton & Vine in Mountain Brook.
Stabler's wine has a suggested retail price of $11.99 a bottle, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the XOXO Stabler Foundation, which supports such charities as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Mulherin Custodial Home for special-needs children in Mobile, and Mobile's Camp Rap-A-Hope, a summer camp for children with cancer.
I'm not sure becoming a wine producer is the best idea for a guy who has done more than just about anyone else to keep DUI lawyers in business, but at least it's going to help some deserving charities, and besides it's not like the Snake ever professed to be an angel anyway. As his famous quote went many years ago, "All I wanna do is drive around in my truck and drink Jack Daniels... and they just don't understand." In any event, some in-state member of the RBR commentariat needs to send one of these up my way.
