Alabama and the 2011 Award Watch Lists
The preseason awards watch lists are upon us signaling one more milestone on the way to the start of the season. These provide a helpful barometer for determining what players across the nation deserve a bit of additional scrutiny (as well as providing fodder for cranky content-starved columnists). The Crimson Tide defense, as you might expect, is represented quite well on these lists and the offense isn't doing too shabby to have lost three players in the first round of last year's draft. Here is the tally thus far:

To me watch lists are the biggest bunch of hype going.
I’m going to bet that neither Cam Newton or Mark Ingram were on any preseason list the years they won the Heisman. I have no record of that because I never look at them any way. Just a guess.
If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.
