PrintI think people are making a bid deal out of nothing. I truly believe our compliance staff did there job and when they say no violation occurred it is just that. I also remember a couple of years ago people claiming Bamas done it this and the death penalty is at hand for what happened to just be a meaningless fishing trip. Last October I was at the Galleria in Birmingham and a Chinese couple were selling autographed football cards with the likes of Cam Newton and Mike Dyer and they had certificates of authenticity. Is there any difference? I also was in a mall in Tennessee a couple years back in a college store witch had any where from Tim Tebow autographed Jerseys to Eric Berry Jerseys. I think as we have seen before this to shall come to pass. It is the off Season and College Football will be here before we know it. R.T.R!

i'm not much of a shopper
so ’i’m going to the mall’ is not really a part of my vocabulary. that said, i DID happen to go to university mall in ttown yesterday. we thought it opened at 12 instead of 1 so we cruised around a bit. honestly, i don’t think i have step foot in that mall since i moved from tuscaloosa in 1984. i also have never heard of this store, this tom dude, or this ‘story’. gotta say though, the storefront stopped me in my tracks. after the fan geek in me oohed and aahhhed at the VERY impressive display of obvious one-of-a-kind memerobilia (particularly two ‘rocky block’ photos framed with the well worn & autographed julio and cody gloves), a momentary ‘uh oh’ passed through my head. i quickly dispelled it though, by thinking we SURELY we could not be THAT crazy and be breaking any rules right out in the open like that. SURELY NOT, right?

Folks, I think it’s time we take this story seriously…I just saw it on SportsbyBrooks and, trust me, the NCAA is not in a jolly mood nowadays…I do wonder about the sheer stupidity of the store owner putting these photos out there if he’s such a ’Bama booster (and why would Saban give this guy a sideline pass of all things)…This maybe the story that Yahoo! Sports is waiting to publish in late August….
