Greetings once again Tide fans. Last year I stopped by for some friendly jabs prior to our meeting in Tuscaloosa (the outcome of which has and forever will escape me), and this time I'm here with a challenge.
A couple of weeks ago Black Shoe Diaries ran an update for our readers on the goings on in Alabama, including the Richardson potential scandal, the RB situation in general, and so on. Kleph was, once again, an enormous help. After trading a couple of emails with him, I told him of our new Thursday regular post, Snacks on Snacks, where we outline a new recipe, drink or other digestible each week. This week, real life got in the way so I was forced to show Mike Mauti eating the opposition.
Anyway, I mentioned to kleph that I was planning a chili-based Snacks on Snacks for the Thursday prior to the Alabama game and asked him if he would be interested in contributing. He told me that "I feel confident about my team but I know I can kick some ass in a kitchen,"
So here we are...as a representative of BSD, I'm giving kleph and all of you guys three weeks notice that we're doing a post on chili two days prior to the matchup. My goal is to get as many recipes as possible posted, and then somehow vote on them. I know we can't make them all and taste test (unfortunately), but we can run a poll on Sunday to see if anyone made them and/or which was their favorite from reading. Hopefully the game doesn't sway opinion too much...
You can contact me at the email address in my profile if you want me to feature your recipe. You can talk them out here and decide on a couple "best Alabama recipes" too. When you do contact me though, please put Alabama and chili in the subject so I can try to keep them all straight.
Best of luck, and I will be at the game in Happy Valley. Please don't hesitate to ask anything about the day or stop by for a beer and football talk. You showed us nothing but great southern hospitality a year ago, we intend to return the favor in just over three weeks.
