#28- Mark Ingram of the New Orleans Saints
FROM THE LOS ANGELES TIMES' NFL COLUMNIST SAM FARMER:
-Asked if Ingram has measured up to expectations so far, Coach Sean Payton didn't hesitate.
"Absolutely," said Payton, who is conducting practices in Oxnard this week as the Saints prepare for Sunday's exhibition game at Oakland. "You're talking about power, speed. … He runs with good pad level. The leaky yardage for him is forward, not backward. You never know until you get him in camp, but he's been impressive."

I'm gonna watch. . .
. . . more pro football this year than I ever have.
I have never liked pro football
I live here and haven’t jumped on the Saints bandwagon yet. Guess its time.

Whenever I must watch NFL/Raiders' games, I get majorly drunk as fuck!
Al Davis goes and drafts Tyrelle Pryor, too? Now I’ve got nothing against tOSU, nor TP (tp? that’s onomatopoeia right there folks!), but how come Al Davis is still breathing? That guy looked like Keith Richards 32 years ago- which would make him . . . . . . .128 years old TODAY!
I’ve got to be down with the Raiders still though. Not so much because I love ‘em so much (although Ro, is THE WAY to go- over there), but because throughout the years- I’ve grown to hate EVERY OTHER SINGLE team BECAUSE I’m a Raider fan. It’s like, I can’t possibly like or root for any other NFL team.
As it is, in my disposition- I’m a total Saints mini-fan right now. I’m such a terrible Raiders fan that not only have I given up on my season-ticket seats (more than half are already sold and divi’-ed out), but get this: I’ve been actually rooting for the 49-ers on some Sundays thanks to Taylor Mays and Glen Coffee. (that’s going to change this season. FINALLY!)
I’m so down with Mark, that I’m now way down with the Saints. It’s complicated.

Agreed.
I never cared about the NFL, but I’ll definitely be watching the Falcons and Saints this year.
God bless our Dark Lord.
I just found out
that I am going to be at Lambeau for the kickoff game Thursday night! I had the opportunity to go to the NCG in Pasadena in January ‘10, then we went to the Super Bowl a couple of weeks later. Lambeau is another off the bucket list, but I should have stopped watching football after the 2009 season, it was magical to say the least. I live in Biloxi, and am an avid Saints fan as well. This season looks like it could be a repeat for both my teams again, so I am glad I didn’t stop watching.
That's a new term for me as well.

"He leaky"
The only other time I’ve heard this term (scratch the ‘yardage’ part though) is when some dude was bleeding from getting punched the f_ck up, on a bus in Oakland, CA. At the end, the girls who’re recording the scene say to each other (as the low-budget homey is bleeding all over), “He leaky! He’s leakin’”

That's classic!
I’ve made up stuff like that in my head about people I see on trains, BART, Muni, or LA’s Red Line. I’m always wondering if people are truly as cool as they’re trying to look. Especially with music blarin’ in their ears.

I believe the Falcons may have more Tide formers than any other team...
Mike Johnson
John Parker Wilson
Julio Jones
Colin Peak
correct me if I’m wrong.
So...
Holla McGhee made their team?

I only heard about Glen Coffey retiring just last week
I still don’t know much about that. Brother said it was because Glen’s going deep into Christian ministry? My brother’s always pulling my legs though. He wouldn’t joke around about Tide-stuff, but he would joke around about the 49-ers.

Check this piece on predicted top rookies . . .
Ingram, Dareus, Jones all mentioned as possibly being the top rookie this year.
Great for the program for them to have that success but . . . oh what could have been.
And, if Brodie sticks, there will be three UA qbs on NFL rosters. That is probably a first in history.
Yes, there will be a key Tide player in just about every game this year.

Actually...
Starr, Stabler and Namath all played in the NFL in ’70 and ’71.

Four that I know of
Namath, Stabler, Scott Hunter, and Richard Todd in 1976 and 1977 seasons.
Also Stabler, Hunter, Todd, and Jeff Rutledge in 1979.

Good memory, Bob...
but I don’t recall seeing Hunter or Rutledge take a snap in the NFL.
I have a little known but tasty Richard Todd story that I’ll break out if there is ever a post dedicated to him or old Bama QBs.
