Game Predictions: Week 5

Stay connected for news and updates

Alabama vs. Florida: W 17-10

Would love to be wrong in that this is a higher scoring game in Bama's favor, but Muschamp is going to blitz and jump the screen/short routes forcing McCarron to beat him deep. McCarron will get one long pass play down the field setting up a TD and Trent will get one long run - up the middle - countering an edge blitz by Muschamp (Deja Vu against Texas?). We get close two more times but only make 1-2 on field goal attempts.

The TIde will allow a couple of scores due to good field position given up by either a poor punt or kick. Bet on a blocked/tipped punt against Bama.

Georgia vs. Miss St (Battle of the Dawgs): W 24-17

Richt continues his revival tour by beating an overrated Miss St. team. Just like the Auburn game, State has plenty of chances but fails to execute, while their defense sputters on crucial drives late in the second half.

South Carolina vs. Auburn: W 24-14

Hard to pick this game because both teams have won despite poor play. Auburn has been, and will continue to be, gashed by the run and lacks the depth to contain Lattimore for four quarters. Also the Tigers offense has sputtered lately, so I don't see USCe giving them much breathing room.

Upset Special (Curse you Vandy for allowing me to ever believe in you!!) Iowa St vs Texas: W 14-10

The luck runs out for the longhorns going away to a very motivated and successful Iowa St (did I just type that?) team that has something to prove. Texas has struggled and this will be one snare they can't sidestep. Prep the Meltdown thread because this one will win them all!
