Season ending thoughts
In no particular order...
How huge was this win? Lose and LSU has won three NC in 9 years with a loaded team returning. The media, which is already haveing a cow over the game, gets to bark even louder about how "unfair" things are. Les Miles gets to crow about owning Coach Saban.
Speaking of whiny-a** media and the "outrage" of this season, just remember that no team has been jobbed more than Bama when it comes to 1 or 0 loss seasons (1967, 1977, 1994).
Final note on Media, did anyone catch Michael "all Alabamians are racists" Wilbon state that if LSU had had Cam Newton, then he would have found a way to win. This was on the Tuesday edition of PTI towards the end. What a prick.
I was just noticing this morning that the boys at RBR will need to undergo a logo change as I believe a 14th star is in order. Hell yes.
How much would it cost and how difficult would it be to reschedule Michigan for the beginning of 2013 so that Ok. State can be played in Early September? Seriously Mal, get on this and make it happen. I will gladly pit our depleted 2012 defense agsainst some milk-livered run and spread'em team from the big 12.
Picture this, TJ Yeldon, Eddie and Jalston running behind Fluker, Jones and the Kuandjo [sic] bros. Football erection.
If "The Stand" in 79 or "Teague has the ball" in 92 or "The Block" in 09 were the lasting images from the season, what is this years defining image? A Richardson juke against Ole Miss or Auburn? Upshaw brutalizing someone? To me, this is a tough question.

That's a good one
You could almost pick any one of the defense’s plays, they were all awesome.
But, for me, as far as one single play from that game, I might pick Norwood’s catch over the top of honey-britches.

Can you attach or send a link to it? I don’t know if I have seen the “exact moment” in a photo. like we all have of the other great moments.

No single image better exemplifies Alabama's redemption in 2011.

I believe this one will hurt for the ages in Baton Rouge.
Whether we win or lose next year when we visit, the bottom line is that we won the big won when it counted. Not some conference game.Mentally this game has to wear on the corn dogs.Beating us at home, only to get throttled when it mattered most.

I don't know if we had
one defining moment in 2011 as all our wins were actually blow outs. Of course there will be many paintings. I’d say the most memorial moment for me was Saban holding up the crystal.
If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.

YBP, are you reeeeaaally worried about someone dumb enough to make a statement like Wilbon did regarding LSU's chances IF they had Newton?
PTI is a chest-thumping shout-fest engaged in by people who are one chromosome abnormality away from throwing their feces against a zoo cage wall. Of course, I’ll say this about ANY employer of that miserable skeleton Skip Bayless.

And one other thing...
I forgot when I composed the original, but this is important. Where the hell is LSUFreek this week? I don’t seem to remember seeing any gif’ed highlights/movie resets from the game like we did in November. Pussy.

Speaking of whiny-a** media and the “outrage” of this season, just remember that no team has been jobbed more than Bama when it comes to 1 or 0 loss seasons (1967, 1977, 1994).
I am confused. I think you mean 1966. Alabama went 8-2-1 in 1967.
1994 makes sense to me. Nebraska and Penn State both went undefeated that year.
1977 might be an argument for “jobbing.” Alabama went 11-1, losing by one touchdown to Nebraska, who finished #8 in the AP poll, and beating:
Ole Miss: unranked, but you’ll see why this is important in a second
USC: finished the season ranked #13.
Ohio State: finished the season ranked #11.
Notre Dame went 11-1, in 1977, losing by one touchdown to unranked Ole Miss (whom Alabama had beaten). Notre Dame beat:
Pittsburgh: finished the season ranked #8.
USC: finished the season ranked #13, Alabama beat them, too.
Clemson: finished the season ranked #19.
Texas: Domers beat them in the Cotton Bowl by 4 TDs, this was Texas’s only loss that year.
Alabama went undefeated and untied in 1945, as well.
If you are including every one-loss year as a “jobbing,”:
1. 1962: 10-1 (lost by one point to Georgia Tech [SEC at the time] in the regular season.)
5. 1991: 11-1 (blown out by Florida in the second game of the season.)
Fourteen.
Huh.
did anyone catch Michael “all Alabamians are racists” Wilbon
Isn’t Wilbon’s buddy Charles Barkley an Alabamian?
Fourteen.
No logic, please...
