It could also be a staph infection.
It is a common skin infection among athletes. The fact that it was on his thigh is meaningless. I’ve seen them on elbows, the back of the neck, on a butt-cheek, and lots of places. They are generally NOT on genitals.

Probably his best coaching job to date in Columbia
Lost the star tailback to injury, had to kick the senior quarterback off the team mid-season, star wide receiver gained more weight than Roseanne, etc. Sure he had a weak schedule, but even so eleven wins isn’t shabby with all that going against you.
Still, can’t help but think he’s fighting a losing battle. UGA, Florida, and Tennessee have much higher ceilings, and at some point they will get it together and pass SoCar by. This is the time for them to dine at the head of the table, and they wasted that this year with that ugly loss against Auburn. They might be able to hold on next year, but it’s going to be tough. Last year might be the final year of his window in Columbia to win the SEC, and the scheduling gods screwed him over by giving him LSU and Arkansas while UGA picked up the cupcakes.

The girl and I...
Bought a Roku about two months ago when the Xbox 360 got Dooley’d. It’s great for streaming things like Netflix, Hulu, and Pandora, plus the SEC Network has their own app that rotates a ton of old, complete football games (watched 1977 ‘Bama v. LSU several weeks back, for example). It’s a tiny little box that uses no real power, and it’s a cool little device. The warranty blows - only 60 days, I believe, unless you buy the extended for approximately $20 - but other than that I have nothing but good things to say about it.
As for streaming football games, though, I don’t know about that. We can’t get ESPN3 through the TV — TimeWarner only negotiated their deal with ESPN for PC’s and phones — and I don’t have a clue about how to get CBS games or Yankees baseball games. If I ever figure out how to do that, I’ll cancel in a heartbeat.

See, I bleed from the ass there
We did have the introductory offer of $99 bucks a month for cable, phone, and internet. Of course, though, that didn’t include approximately 18 bucks in taxes and regulatory fees, and with another 15 bucks or so for a DVR we were up to around $133 a month. Well, after the first year the introductory deal ended, so they jacked up the ball like $25 but then gave me some horseshit $9 “loyal customer” discount, so we’re sitting at around $149.
The real shit-kicker: I tried to get the phone — which is ungodly terrible, by the way, nothing but pure static — cancelled and I was told they would charge me $8 more per month to not have the phone.

Say you are going to cancel. and ask for retention department
Then ask for a supervisor. If you say you are ditching your land-line and switching to dish/directv,. and tell them it will be $75 per month, they will find every discount they can to keep you.
I do this every time my bill increases monthly. I’ve successfully pulled it off for over 6 years. Be nice and persistent. Ask questions about the CS rep. They will get you a deal if you keep trying.

working on a backhoe and didn’t have insurance on the phone. They wanted to charge me $200 for a new phone or $300 to cancel.

Cable and Internet services are one of the few things that are virtually the same regardless of general cost of living disparities. Hell, I was paying $130 a month in south Louisiana four years ago and that was with slower Internet and no telephone. By that comparison, I’m actually getting something of a bargain with TimeWorthless.
Bottom line, you’re likely to be getting screwed over regardless of where you live. It’s limited-at-best competition screwing you over with high prices and poor quality of services.

If Greg McElroy was the Okie State QB
Blackmon wouldn’t score as much. No offense to Greg, but he wasn’t exactly known for his throwing ability.
by Mitchell Smilie on Jan 2, 2012 9:00 PM CST up reply actions
Again, you're simply incorrect.
I have posted on this enough times to be tired of it. Greg McElroy is one of the best quarterbacks Alabama ever had. His QB rating his Senior year (2010, in which we lost three games) was 9.85 points better than Brandon Weeden’s this year. http://www.cfbstats.com/2010/player/8/1000032/passing/split.html http://www.cfbstats.com/2011/player/521/1010539/passing/split.html, and 1.5 higher than Andrew Luck this year. http://www.cfbstats.com/2011/player/674/1018393/passing/split.html. Oh, and Greg won a National Championship.
Sorry if I sound angry, but you people need to do some research before you criticize Greg McElroy.

Thirteen.
Different offense.
'There are two pains in life. There is the pain of discipline and the pain of disappointment. If you can handle the pain of discipline, then you'll never have to deal with the pain of disappointment,'- Nick Saban
So?
My issue was with the “not known for his throwing ability.” My point was that in many measurable statistics, Greg was a better passer than these two “superstars,” as well as many who went before him. As I’ve posted elsewhere, McElroy’s 2010 passing performance was closer to 2008 Sam Bradford’s (ridiculous), than Peyton Manning’s, Tom Brady’s, or Brady Quinn’s Senior season was to McElroy’s.
Once again, smart people have come up with an overall way to rate QBs. It’s called a QB rating. And Greg’s was better than Peyton Manning’s senior year, Tom Brady’s senior year, as well as Weeden’s and Lucks, at least before this last game.
Thirteen.

Yes, and it measures efficiency.
It doesn’t penalize for NOT throwing the ball, which Greg did far too often, probably because he knew his limits.
'There are two pains in life. There is the pain of discipline and the pain of disappointment. If you can handle the pain of discipline, then you'll never have to deal with the pain of disappointment,'- Nick Saban
I've never been able to find sack stats (shut up, J Tadpole)...
But in 2010, Greg McElroy is listed as having 60 rushing attempts for -12 yards, for an average of -.2 yards per carry, 1 TD. Weeden is listed as having 15 rushing attempts for -95 yards, for -6.33 yards per carry, 0 TDs. Luck, on the other hand, can apparently roll: 43 rushes for 153 yards, 3.56 yards per carry, 2 TDs.
So yeah, my interpretation of those stats is that Greg took a lot of sacks and scrambled a lot more than he should have (I don’t remember all that many designed runs). However, my interpretation is also that had he thrown a lot of those balls away, his completion % would have dropped, and we might have gained another 7.2" of field position (-.2 yards per carry average). My main issue here was with criticism of his throwing ability, which by all measurable statistics was superb.
Thirteen.
Excuse me...
1.2 yards more per attempt than Weeden, a full yard per attempt more than 2011 Luck.
Thirteen.

Anyone who thinks OSU could hang 40
on LSU or Bama needs to get back on their meds. That QB wouldn’t last 4 quarters with the lack of a running game.

Can't believe two coaches played for the long field goal on the same day
Both get what they deserve.
OSU playing for the FG too? At least it’s a short one, but I hope they miss it too.

Yeah. And that's nothing like Carson Tinker losing his girlfriend.
Could you imagine if we blamed every missed kick on a bad snap caused by Carson Tinker being overwhelmed by emotion? Like, that’s just tacky and wrong. You don’t do that.

congrats to OSU
big win, they won it fair and square. I don’t think they are in the title mix, but I think they have a bright future
Why?
Weeden and Blackmon are the whole damn offense and they don’t have a defense.

Shitty Bowl games mostly.
But they’re actually 6-1. The SEC is 4-2, including 2-1 in NYD games. So what? Best record between the two will come down to Arky and K-State I reckon. Of course, most idiots will put the SEC at 1-1 in the MNC game, dragging the number down. That game should really be ignored in this case.

Any more and you are getting a cease and desist from chromasters balls inc. - Chromaster
Okie State loses
the QB, top 2 receivers, and three starting OL. On defense, they return eight starters… is that good or bad? In any case, back to mediocrity.

So Alabama's signature win of the season was at Penn State.......
Today, Penn State got their a$$es handed to them. Win Arkansas loses to K-State, what will Bama’s justification be that they are the more deserving team?
that we are the number 2 BCS ranked team.
kinda speaks for itself, like that scoreboard in the bedlam game.
Any more and you are getting a cease and desist from chromasters balls inc. - Chromaster
by Mr. Abe Froman on Jan 3, 2012 12:21 AM CST up reply actions
I don't think we NEED to justify anything..
We got put in the game because we finished the season ranked second in the country. That’s the current system, and it is not our fault that it helped us this year. Alabama fans would be first in line for a +1 or playoff system, as evidenced by their support of it in 2008. It was vetoed by others, including the Big 12.
The other “justification” is just that OSU is horrible on defense and would get decimated by LSU or Alabama. Stanford ran a similar style offense to LSU/Bama with inferior players at every position besides quarterback, and still took OSU to the wire. Replace Stanford’s weak secondary with the star-studded ones playing next Monday and you have the makings of a blowout. OSU wouldn’t stand a chance.
Why are you stumping for Little Brother?
The butthurt is much funnier since they won.
