How long did it take for Alabama

to escape the shadow of the Bear? Or LSU and Charlie McClendon? And now PSU and Paterno. They’re going down.

10 years till Bama hired Stallings

Those years had lots of ups and downs. Not until President Witt was hired and brought in new AD and Stallings did things settle down and get better.

if Arnsparger would have stayed, sigh--, but twenty years (Saban) with some good years sprinkled in there

89-95, I don’t want to talk about it, well I had fun at the games regardless but don’t really want to talk about it. Before my time but Bo Rein never had an opportunity because he died in a plane crash. It is going to take a while most likely for PSU.

this would be the lone exception. The rest of the college football world needs kstate to win this one to maintain the illusion that they can play with the SEC. They can’t, they all know it, but its the illusion that drives it.

by ccislanders on Jan 6, 2012 9:33 PM CST up reply actions

ehhh, no, not really....

…..but I’ve done tons of research about both, Belmont and UA. The reason why Belmont might be the place, is because my brother lives up there and my parents are kinda strict about where they want me to go.

To let you know, I can’t go to G-Tech, UAB, any school in Memphis or St. Louis.

So personally, since I don’t have much of a list, these are my schools in order: UA, Belmont, Vanderbilt, Mizzou, Wake and Clemson/Iowa.

Probably majoring in Journalism or Broadcast/Radio. Not all of the school’s I’m looking at have broadcast/radio, but UA does (Rece Davis).

BTW, even though my grammar sometimes is terrible here, I freaking nailed semester exam today, amazing.

So, Arky's clearly better than KSU.

KSU and OSU are dead even, and Stanford and OSU are dead even. Arky is then better than OSU?

It doesn't matter,

if the SEC wins it’s only due to oversigning nothing more.

Ya know,

Arky lost a football player during the season and didn’t use that as an excuse for being stiffed out of a BCS bowl. Congrats to Arky on this win. Pretty big for the SEC, considering big 12 fans thought it is a tougher conference.

to be fair

I killed Saban for kicking field goals instead of punting against LSU. Had we done that, I think we would have won the game at worst 6-3.

I would be surprised if we try a 40+ FG

Hopefully the offense does not put us in that decision

I will say what I said during the game

asking a kid to do something he has shown you he isn’t capable of is bad coaching. If we do it again, I will be furious; especially when you consider the greatness of the defense

by BamaThrasher on Jan 6, 2012 11:14 PM CST up reply actions

I think we got a foreshadowing of your mindset

in the Barner game. We did not try a 42-yarder with Foster but successfully tried a 32 yarder 4 plays later with Shelley

Prior to the Fiesta Bowl

T-Bone Pickins University’s highest ranked opponent whom they beat was KSU, while ours was Arkansas. Now, who did TBPU lose to, while who did we lose to?

by BamaThrasher on Jan 6, 2012 11:15 PM CST up reply actions

OSU won 52-45 over KSU

with that result I think the score is about the same but then again I’m a SEC homer

by JST97 on Jan 6, 2012 11:18 PM CST up reply actions

Hard to say.

But my point is We Wuz Robbed University claims to have us beat regarding SOS. We beat the #6 team and lose to #1 team. They beat the #8 team and lose to a 6-7 team. Today is egg on their face. Too bad Stanford lost.

the real irony about this situation

is that all the idiots are going to get what they want, a plus one. They just don’t realize that its a virtual lock that the SEC will get two of the four spots.

by BamaThrasher on Jan 6, 2012 11:24 PM CST up reply actions

My biggest fear

the BCS opens the door for plus1, which will open the door for 4-team playoff, then 8-team, etc. I not opposed in principle to a plus1/playoff but I think how differently future fans will experience college football.

by JST97 on Jan 6, 2012 11:29 PM CST up reply actions

there is a very good reason everyone outside of the ACC

turned away a plus one 3 years ago. They all know the truth, if the illusion is shattered, who knows what happens. If we go 5 years with a plus one, I promise you is plenty of buyer’s remorse from everyone but us.

by BamaThrasher on Jan 6, 2012 11:32 PM CST up reply actions

I watch Bama BBall b/c I'm a fan

but I could care less about the regular season. It only effects whether you face a #1 in the second round or the elite8.
