How long did it take for Alabama
to escape the shadow of the Bear? Or LSU and Charlie McClendon? And now PSU and Paterno. They’re going down.

10 years till Bama hired Stallings
Those years had lots of ups and downs. Not until President Witt was hired and brought in new AD and Stallings did things settle down and get better.

if Arnsparger would have stayed, sigh--, but twenty years (Saban) with some good years sprinkled in there
89-95, I don’t want to talk about it, well I had fun at the games regardless but don’t really want to talk about it. Before my time but Bo Rein never had an opportunity because he died in a plane crash. It is going to take a while most likely for PSU.

this would be the lone exception. The rest of the college football world needs kstate to win this one to maintain the illusion that they can play with the SEC. They can’t, they all know it, but its the illusion that drives it.

The most an offense could get on a PAT/extra try is 2 points.

it awards the highest value for crossing the goaline, which on an extra point is two points in either direction.

with KState having no time outs, and a 19-2 lead instead of clocking it, and taking the lead to the half time, he goes for more points, Wilson fumbles, kstate gets a td, and the ball to start the second half. Petrino sucks as a game manager.

ehhh, no, not really....
…..but I’ve done tons of research about both, Belmont and UA. The reason why Belmont might be the place, is because my brother lives up there and my parents are kinda strict about where they want me to go.
To let you know, I can’t go to G-Tech, UAB, any school in Memphis or St. Louis.
So personally, since I don’t have much of a list, these are my schools in order: UA, Belmont, Vanderbilt, Mizzou, Wake and Clemson/Iowa.
Probably majoring in Journalism or Broadcast/Radio. Not all of the school’s I’m looking at have broadcast/radio, but UA does (Rece Davis).
BTW, even though my grammar sometimes is terrible here, I freaking nailed semester exam today, amazing.

Cool, the son of friends of ours graduated from Belmont a couple of Year's ago.
He’s teaching in the Nasville area. He loved the school and really enjoyed Nashville. Our daughter is at Vandy Law school and she loves Nashville. Looks like a good list of schools. Good luck with your choice!

Well, I've been to Belmont a cpl times, been to 2 bball games and love the mid-major play.
Nashville, so far, has been one of my fave’s so far, I’ll be up there next weekend, (suppose to go this weekend, but talked my parents out of it, so my brother is gonna miss class on Thursday) but you know, game on Monday and such.
First and foremost, I need to get my G.P.A up to around 3.75, it’s only at 3.5 right now, stupid me.

Bear was special indeed .
as a life long Tiger fan (Clemson , Not LSU ) , we always felt a kin too Alabama . Lot of historical ties between the two schools , and football programs . The philosophy that Bear instilled at Bama is still alive and well , and hopefully Clemson will oneday take note of how important being tough is .
for starters
you might want to ditch that dipshit offense you run, you can’t win big games with that bullshit
I do like your brand of offense better.
However , what is killing us is our "salesman " head coach . His soft ass practice philosophy , and our sucky S&C program is hurting us worse . We need a complete overhaul .
well, if you want to get rid of the only coach since ken hatfield to win a conference title
I would say thats ambitious
probably ,
but we will never be consistant with Dabo . The reason you guys are consistant is because your football program practices like it plays . Saban demands hard work .
Underwhelmed with the Arky band.

Ya know,
Arky lost a football player during the season and didn’t use that as an excuse for being stiffed out of a BCS bowl. Congrats to Arky on this win. Pretty big for the SEC, considering big 12 fans thought it is a tougher conference.

I will say what I said during the game
asking a kid to do something he has shown you he isn’t capable of is bad coaching. If we do it again, I will be furious; especially when you consider the greatness of the defense

I think we got a foreshadowing of your mindset
in the Barner game. We did not try a 42-yarder with Foster but successfully tried a 32 yarder 4 plays later with Shelley

at that distance, I hope we punt

Hard to say.
But my point is We Wuz Robbed University claims to have us beat regarding SOS. We beat the #6 team and lose to #1 team. They beat the #8 team and lose to a 6-7 team. Today is egg on their face. Too bad Stanford lost.

the real irony about this situation
is that all the idiots are going to get what they want, a plus one. They just don’t realize that its a virtual lock that the SEC will get two of the four spots.
by BamaThrasher on Jan 6, 2012 11:24 PM CST up reply actions
My biggest fear
the BCS opens the door for plus1, which will open the door for 4-team playoff, then 8-team, etc. I not opposed in principle to a plus1/playoff but I think how differently future fans will experience college football.
there is a very good reason everyone outside of the ACC
turned away a plus one 3 years ago. They all know the truth, if the illusion is shattered, who knows what happens. If we go 5 years with a plus one, I promise you is plenty of buyer’s remorse from everyone but us.
