Around SBN: Indy 500: 'Greatest Spectacle In Racing' Set For Sunday

Just following up on my post about my sick friend

I was trying to get someone to get Bama players to sign some swag for my friend who is in the hospital and will miss going to the national championship game. Looks like some of the Bama players took some time to sign a ball for him! What a bunch of great guys. This will be an awesome consolation prize for him to wake up to. Proud that our players could help brighten his day. I hope he can wake up and see it soon. Roll Tide!

That's really cool. Quite classy.

Best wishes to your friend, and prayers for a speedy recovery.

This is great. Looks like Trent’s initials.

Best of luck to your friend.

you need to keep us updated

If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.

He's moving to DCH in Tuscaloosa on Monday.

He was in his last semester of nursing school and all his teachers and classmates begged to take care of him.

This morning, his mom said he was responding to yes-or-no questions with head movements. She asked him if he wanted to go to DCH and she said he nodded. Just hopeful they can get the transportation details worked out and make sure he’s there in time for the game.

There will be updates about his progress here as well.

This shows the Class that Alabama has

While LSU is spouting crap, our players are looking out for our own. The Karma is on our side.

Many prayers and wishing for a full recovery to your friend.

Great story, hope he gets to doing better

Fair warning, though: Clay Travis might come knocking if he finds out about the Trent Richardson autograph.

Clay has to pay that rent and subsidize his Pokemon collection.

And I’d also have to give him points for being able to find a door and subsequently knock on it.

Quoteth Harvey about the tool...

…known as Clay Travis “Updyke also said that has been approached by several people to write a book about him. Clay Travis has been pushing him the hardest to write the book, Updyke said.”

Not only should there not BE a book to extend this story, Travis making money off something that makes Alabama look bad or ANYTHING Alabama would really piss me off.

Dan, you’re a wonderful friend and I’m glad Michael is responding positively. Keep us posted.

You had me at "ROLL TIDE"!!!

Unfortunately, Mike had a bit of a set back today.

Got pneumonia from that damn ventilator tube. Prognosis is generally good, but it has delayed his trip to DCH tonight. He will not be awake to see a game he had a ticket for :( Please, as you’re cheering the Tide on tonight, direct a prayer and a little of that positive energy my friend’s way. He’s fighting a tough fight right now. A Bama win would be absolutely wonderful news to wake up to.

Glad he got the win.

Now he needs to wake up and enjoy it! As for the pneumonia, I don’t know that I’ve heard of too many people hooked up to those things that didn’t get it, but I know several who came out just fine. Sorry to hear about the set back, but my prayers are with him.

Yes, and he's a young man

I am sure it’s just a minor complication. Still sucks that he couldn’t leave as soon as his parents had hoped. But the ventilator pneumonia thing is quite common.
