Back in 1966, as some of you may have read in The Missing Ring, Alabama faced a defining moment on the road against Tennessee. It was 10-0 at the half, and Coach Bryant artfully lifted his team, gave his players renewed confidence, and the Tide went on to win a dramatic 11-10 victory.

The key moment in the second half came when Steve Davis, second of the kicking Davis brothers, lined up for a chip shot field goal. If he doesn't make it, Alabama probably doesn't win, and The Missing Ring season goes down in flames.
