Alabama's National Signing Day Wrap Up / The Roll Bama Roll Radio Hour(ish)
Another year, another top rated recruiting class. The Tide finished the day ranked #1 by Rivals, ESPN, MaxPreps, and 247sports.com, while Scouts has us at #2 behind Texas (quick, someone hurt Colt McCoy's shoulder!). OTS and I will break down this year's class, who we got, who we didn't, depth, the lack of drama, and etc. starting at 7:30 CST. You can join us in the chat or listen with the widget below, or if you miss it you can direct download here or download via iTunes shortly after the recording has stopped. Roll Tide.

Wowowowow! I just read that AU and FL
both gave 4 year scholarships. To get so out recruited by a team that offers only 1 year is so telling. Wow. Did not know this until just now. And the Barn thinks it is something to brag about.

4 year schollys are going to open you up to major problems.
If a kid is a problem and you kick him off the team he could sue you. You could also end up with schollys tied to guys that ought to transfer because they are not playing, but no one can take their 4 years away so why even try and why try on the field etc.
If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.
This is absolutely incorrect, and I don’t know why more crooked teams don’t do this. The school CANNOT be sued – it is an arm of the state and therefore has sovereign immunity from lawsuits. The school could sue the kid, but not the other way around.

State actors like a public university can be sued as state organs
Under substantive due process. State immunity outside of enlargements or contraction by the legislature usually only applies to tort and cl remedies.

Look at any court case involving the UA system in the past 5 years (when being sued by a private person or entity). If you can find one that was not thrown out by our Alabama Supreme Court, I’ll concede the point. Unless the school violates a constitutional right, they are enjoying every aspect of immunity by being declared an arm of the state in the Alabama Constitution.
The ONLY judge that does not throw out these court cases WAS Sue Bell Cobb (who is very liberal). When Off Campus Bookstore tried to sue UAH? “No jurisdiction.” When UA and AU were sued by students these past 2 years for failing to meet advertised and signed scholarship awards? “No jurisdiction.” The student can only sue the individual that signed the contract – the school ALWAYS gets off free and clear.

All I know is that back when there were 4 year schollys schools got sued.
If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.
And that was before the great litigious uprising.

and just for the record
alabama signed a top-ten track and field class today as well.
The class features 16 signees on the men’s side and 11 newcomers to the women’s squad. Of the 27 who signed, 11 are currently ranked in the top 25 nationally in their respective events while 19 have won at least one state championship.
yes. all your recruits do, in fact, belong to us.

Good way to get the day started.
Fowler: I disagree OTS
I think Fowler can have the long runs. He has had some long runs already and surprisingly he has decent speed.
If Auburn was in New Mexico and we never played them I would still hate them and their dumb coach and their cheating players.
Unfortunately, our class lacks intellectuals.
Cassanova McKinzy chose Auburn over Clemson because Clemson did not have a Chick-Fil-A in its vicinity—even though it has one on campus. Boy cannot even spell his own personal name correctly.

But, have you ever been to the Chick-Fil-a in Auburn?
It is actually a really good Chick-Fil-a..

Well, they do specialize in animals at Auburn.

In fairness to the kid...
Chick-Fil-A on campus is not real Chick-Fil-A. In fact, if it’s anything like it was in the Ferg when I was at ‘Bama, it’s not even good enough to be considered a piss-poor imitation.
